okay, so ive always had frizzy wild hair. but lately things have been diffrent. i was at my barn having a sleepover and the only shampoo we had was mane n' tail. its works wonders on your hair!!! it smells good to me because i love bathing the horses and it works great. not to mention its super cheap. i always have a spare bottle of mane and tail now 'just in case the horses runs out'..

treating oily hair & buildup

when you have greasy hair, mix in a pinch of baking soda in with your shampoo, the baking soda will breakdown the oil buildup and rub it in then after you are done it it will feel cleaner than it ever has before! (:

Well i have golden colored hair and it sometimes gets oily if i dont wash it everyday. the oils arent good for my skin i dont think and makes me break out so i use vinegar and water mixed togethter after i shampoo. it locks in moisture if you rinse with cold water. also the vinegar gets rid of build up.

p.s. the smell of vinegar is strong when you put it on but is completely gone when it dries and you should let it air dry( no towel or anything just air dry). Good luck

I used 1 egg with 1tsp of olive oil as a conditioner. You have to mix the egg and olive oil message through out the hair and put a plastic cap on and let sit for 30 minutes then rinse with cold water then shampoo. I used a leave in detangler conditioner then style. My hair was very soft and very straight. The following week I used just one egg mixed it with tsp water and message on my hair after shampoo let sit for 5 minutes then rinse out with cool water. I used my same leave in detangler conditioner, I blow dry my hair then curl all over. I then comb down then wrap. The next morning I comb my hair down it was shiny and full of body.

Most home remedies don't work well on African American hair! But I've found that keeping a container of Real Mayo solution in the fridge and using it twice a month keeps my hair shiny, strong and smooth. I combine 1tsp on extra virgin olive oil, 1 egg yolk, 2-3 tbsp REAL mayo and 1 tsp lemon juice in a bowl and beat it with a fork until its smooth. Apply all over hair, paying special attention to roots. Leave on for about 30 minutes and shampoo with any Olive Oil shampoo (I recommend Organics Root Stimulator products). Adding the lemon juice is optional, but it helps keep my natural highlights shining!

Take biotin. A great hair vitamin that works wonders is called Hair, Skin, & Nails Formula by GNC. There is usually buy one get one 50% off deals. It really works!

IF you straighten your hair every day, give it a break! Try letting it air dry or put it up one day without washing it.

This is coming from a cosmetologist.

Keep your conditioner in the fridge. Cold conditioner will help to close your hair follicles. Which will prevent split ends and such.

if you use expensive products to strip gunk out of your hair your wasting your money buying extra shampoo.

a friend of mine is a beautician i called her for advice on the best product to strip my hair with. at the time i was using alot of products for straightning and blow drying and the products had built up on my hair and made it look greasy she said to take baking soda and mix it with your regular shampoo. works exactly the same and a whole lot cheaper than buying more products.

who knew that baking soda could be used for so much.. cleaning.. cooking.. your face.. hair.. hmm.. baking soda could take over the world lol.

I don't have a perm so you know what that is like if your an African American but I get my hair soft, straight and bouncy by applying olive oil onto my dry hair sit under the dryer for 30 min. Then wash with Mane and Tail shampoo (be sure to wash out all the oil) then condition with Mane and Tail conditioner (again under the dryer for 30 min.) then rinse out. Blow dry and press. Do this every two weeks. I don't have a perm and my hair is always soft and shiny.

Soft and shining hair ..simple but the best tip:
Mix 3 parts of ANY HAIR CONDITIONER, 1 PART of HONEY and 1 part of ALMOND or SUNFLOWER or OLIVE oil. Mix it well. Set it for 5 minutes. Wet your hair and apply it all over your hair and keep it for 20-25 minutes. Rinse off with any shampoo.
This is the best moisturizer for dry and frizzy hair.
Also dont rub or pat your hair with towel. Either use a paper towel or an old T-shirt to dry your hair.
