My remedy is cut a medium not too thin slice of potato and put on the sole of your foot and put socks on. No vinegar is needed the potato draws out the heat from your body. I had a fever of 102 and it has gone down to 99.1. It's the real deal as crazy as it sounds.
As the old folk use to say FEED A COLD,STARVE A FEVER:TRY TO EAT LESS AND FOOD LIKE CHICKEN SOUP WILL DO THE TRICK.IF YOUR FELL HUNGRY YOUR BODY WOULD TELL YOUR WHEN TO EAT.
Soak feet in a bowl with cold water and half a cup rubbing alcohol for a few minutes!
To breakdown high fevers you get a clean empty paint bucket and have you're feet inside the buck for about 45 mins to an hour's you're fever will breakdown to normal
Run a warm bath and put vinegar in it. I do this with my son everytime, it works wonders with mild fevers making it disappear after them bath. But for extremely stubborn fevers I use a fever reducer and the vinegar bath. Also someone told me their grandmother used to soak a piece of bread with vinegar and then placed it on the chest. It would pull the fever out. I havent tried it but who knows.
One of the most simplest ways to get rid of a fever is to wrap a cold wet towel around your neck and head. Then, while relaxing, get someone to give you a nice foot massage. This starts to circulates the blood and draw it away from your head. It sounds dumb, but it is really good.
Works for headches as well.
Yesterday I was suffering from fever and my body temperature was 104, I was in a state of hallucinate..but I wasn't hallucinating because facing this much body temperature wasn't my first time, I was playing game on my p.c, my cure was a simple trick by my mom which she is using since my childhood..and that is soaking a hand towel into cold water and putting it on forehead,arms,chest,legs...the more you make it wet it will take less time to cool down your temperature.

If you have a fever put a few slices of onion in your socks then slip them on. The onion will draw the fever out.
To reduce a fever, soak ankle high socks in very cold water. Wring out excess and put on feet. Cover with wool socks.
Change when socks dry (this varies depending on fever temperature), usually about 1/2 hour.
Combined with rest and clear fluids, this usually keeps the fever at a very low grade. Just warm enough to still be able to fight whatever infection brought the fever on in the first place.
