My daughter is 14 months. She suffers from eczema very badly. Over the last 5 months I have elimated flour, milk and gluten from her diet.
I have put her on rice milk with added calicum.
I now put salt and halden's Emuls. Base (Made by ovelle ) in to her bath. Then I use Aveeno Skin Relief Shower Oil to moisture her skin after her bath.

Hi! I don't have a remedy - yet,but I am so thankful for people who have found things that work for them and have taken the time to put them on here. I would rather go through labor ten times than have this. I am going to try several things mentioned. God bless you all. It is such a relief to find 74 people who know what it is like!

I have a lot to be thankful for especially this site. My son just turned 1 year old last week. The past eight months have been very difficult for Mom and me especially for our son Santiago. We also have had to deal with blood stained clothes from him scratching at night and continually watching that he doesn't scratch his face. We have purchased many products for Eczema on line and none really helped. One Product completely cleared his face for 1 week then it was back again. We began to think about his diet because he is now 1 and we have started to feed him regular food and take him off of the bottle. We noticed that his face was getting better since we stopped feeding him bananas and peas baby food. We wanted to try to limit his diet so he wouldn't become overweight because he is a big boy 9lbs.11oz at birth and to see if there was some significant changes in his skin condition. It's been 1 week and his face is as clear as a blue sky on a sunny day. We have an appointment with a dermotalogist his week that we will keep and see if we can pinpoint all of his allergies. After 8 months we are discovering that his condition is caused by allergies not eczema, and his grandfather was allergic to many things as a child. I asked grampa why he didn't say anything he replied that we didn't ask him and he didn't have Eczema as a child. We didn't ask because our Doctor said that it was Eczema and we accepted that. My Remedy is to share our story and to encourage you not to give up or eccept this condition. This is why I am really thankful to this website it helped us keep an open mind and not give up.

Hey everyone,
Iv had eczema for about 6 years now and I have found a couple of things that have worked. There is this soap that I got from this fair that actually seems to dry up the Eczema. Its called Tea tree and you can buy it online for about six bucks. But be sure to have some good moisterize because it does sting for the first couple of uses. I also use vagisil for the inching and that seems to work really well. I also use natural SHEA BUTTER, which i also got at this fair. It does help with the moisterizing but it is kind of sticky and greasy. But here is the websites for the soap. Hope it helps!
~blue heron soap
and you want to get the Tea tree or the Almond Oatmeal

If I can help one mother out there to help her children with eczema this is it.
I have 2 children with atopic ezcema who have had 3 hospitalisation. Finally I have found relief my children sleep through at last and do not scratch anymore. Their skin is glowing and it is so simple.
1/2 cup White king in the bath at night
After they get out of bath moisturise and then cover them in zinc cream. It soothes the skin and acts as a barrier we are in week 2 they there eczema has disappeared and I had tried everything. Creams, antibiotics etc who would have thought it be this simple. It is not diet related.

I started getting mild eczema at about 30-32 years age, and it lasted for few years. I am almosyt problem free now for about 2 years (I am 39 now)- ever since I accidently stumbled on olive oil for prevention. (as one day when I had a lot of itching, I could not find any other moisturizer around). Ever since I started using olive oil all over my body after my bath, I dont get any more rashes. But if I do try any other body lotion, I start getting eczema after about 7-15 days. Olive oil does not cure these rashes - I have to use steroid to cure - so the oil is only good for prevention. I use the cheapest lightest oil I can find (at Costco). For my face I use Cetaphil for prevention - that has worked for the past 7 years.

Okay, so I had severe Eczema on my fingers about a year ago, to the point where i could barely use my hands. I know how horrible it can be. I had a combination of dry and wet exzema.
This was the best remedy I ever tried:
The best one I've tried (possibly the simplest) is clover honey (standard honey). Wash and dry your hands (or body part of the affected area), and apply honey. Rub it into your skin, and it will start soaking in. Once much of it is soaked in, apply more honey and rub it in more and repeat. Do this for about ten minutes, depending on the severity of your eczema (mine was horrible). Rinse the honey off with clean, cold water. And don't worry, they wont be sticky once rinsed.

Once your hands are dry, apply lots of an unscented moisturizing lotion. Do the same type of treatment you did with the honey, but only for about half the time. Rinse off the excess with cold water.

last step, rub in a small amount of a healing cream onto the affected area. I use an Acitonide and Triamcinalone USB cream (sp?) prescribed to me by my doctor. Over the counter Cortisone cream also works pretty well.

I swear guys, this will work wonders. You can do this every day, or just when the skin is drier than usual. My hands went from being callused and painful to being baby soft in a matter of minutes. And heres a good tip: try to find a honey with crystalized sugar in it. This usually occurs in older or more natural honeys. The sugar will work great as a scrub. The best part??? You can actually scratch the itch! As long as it's with the honey sugar, it's actually better for it, as long as you don't over do it. This can lead to pained, raw skin. The feeling of finally being able to scratch the itch is wonderful though.

Another thing that works is applying a rosemary oil to the affected area three times daily... This just doesn't work as well as the Honey trick!

The best of wishes to you guys and Good Luck!

Sincerely,
Kimberly

I hate the thought that the topical steriods I have been using actually thins my skin. I found a herbal ointment that works really well to prevent flares from getting worse nd it kills the itch. It is caled Tiger Balm (google it to find it)it provides instant relief for me, it contains camphor, menthol & clove oil. works like acharm and it is cheap.

It wasn't mentioned that the skin is an organ that helps remove toxins and impurities from the body, validating it is an internal as well as external problem.
I don't believe any specific foods such as dairy or sugar may necessarily cause or make it worse. I think that is a very individual thing.
I thank the folks for the turmeric info. I am gonna try that asap. I mostly have it in my scalp. Applying oily greasy stuff does not make for a good hairdo. lol
