when my son was a baby he was alergic to most diapers (I got lucky he wasn't alergic to the cheapest brand) but until I found the right one he was always getting blistering rashes then my aunt told me to take corona (not the drink) and mix with vasaline just enough to make it easy to spread and coat the rash area with in a few hours the rashes were almost completely gone.
Unfortanatly I can't find corona were I live. Corona is a salve used on cow utters when they get sore and it works miracles on diaper rash.

I know it sounds crazy but it really works. I was actually told this by my dughters pediatrician. For severe diaper rash after you clean their bottom with a warm washrag (No Wipes they contain alcohol) put some Malox (the liquid kind) all over the sores. It will coat their bottom and it is for reducing acid in your stomach and diaper rash is usually caused by acid in their stools. Also be sure to change the baby often (even more than you think they need it) to help clear it up!! Good Luck!

In regard to using cornstarch for baby powder: yes, that does work, but the caution is that it should not be used when there is already a rash present. If the rash is caused by an organism, such as a fungus, the cornstarch provides an ideal culture, and cause the organism to multiply. Some commercial baby powders have cornstarch in them, so read the labels.

My baby is 10 months old and till this day she never had a daiper rash ever.I can bet for this remedy if baby gets a diaper rash after this.Trust me it works like a miracle.Take a simple petroleum jelly,as i would never spend so much money just to apply on bottoms.Apply petroleum jelly on baby's bottom properly every where and then properly sprinkle cornflour on her bottom.I have put it in a plastic bottle and then made sum holes on the lid of that bottle so it is easy to sprinkle it.This remedy is cheap and very effective.Sprinkle some of the cornflour on the diaper as well as it will keep the diaper and the skin dry.It will work as a miracle.U will never see a diaper rash again.

I THOUGHT MY SONS DIAPER RASH WOULD NEVER GO ANYWAY. IT BECAME REDDER AND MORE IRRITATED TO THE POINT THAT IT HAD TURNED INTO RAW SKIN. AFTER CRYING OVER THE SITUATION ANS TRYING EVERYTHING ON THE SHELF TO TREAT THE DIAPER RASH THIS REMEDY IS WHAT CLEARED IT UP. FIRST ONLY USE WARM WATER AND COTTON BALLS TO CLEAN THE AREA. LEAVE THE DIAPER OFF FOR ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES THEN PUT SOME WATKINS PETRO-CARBO SALVE ON THE IRRITATED AREA (THIS SALVE IS KNOWN TO DRY UP ANY KIND OF RASH)THEN INSTEAD OF USING JOHNSONS BABY POWDER USE PURE CORNSTARCH UNTIL IT IS HEALED AND THEN USE BABY GOLD BOND POWDER TO SPRINKLE IN THE DIAPER AFTER EVERY CHANGE. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WORKS FOR EVERY BABY BUT I PROMISE YOU THAT THIS IS WHAT DID THE TRICK FOR MINE. I SAW INSTANT RESULTS.

When my kids got diaper rash, off came the rubber pants. I would lay the kid down on top of a vinyl diaper changing pad throughout the day, and double diaper them for the night without rubber pants. A couple of days of this routine, and everything was often back to normal again.
