10 Home Remedies for Aching Eyes

For eye ache, in general, eye exercises work well and also help you focus. It is very much like muscle ache = exercise.
Always remember to do them gently and never strain.
Use cold whatever you use, because it helps the circulation in the same way as it does when you have a cold shower.
Obviously an eye check every so often is a good idea.
But what most people will not tell you is that eyes need exercise. It makes sense that if you are always looking in the same direction and at the same short distance, your muscles will lose their tonicity.

put green tea bags in warm or boiling water and place on your eyes for about 10-15 minutes. works great and is very soothing.

I get bad eye strain from not getting enough sleep. This is painful to me. This is what I do and it works great. You have mucles in your eyes...they get overworked just like any mucle, for me it's right above my eyelids, if you rub them gentley you can tell there sore. First I take advil as this helps take the pain away, but more importantly it is a imflammatory and will take the swelling down around the mucles. Then (I read about this somewhere)laydown and take the palms of your hands and cover your eyes with them applying ample pressure for 20 minutes. Within about a half hour all the pain is gone. It also helps to wear your glasses for a while afterwards even if you don't wear them all the time.(if you have them) as it helps the mucles not to have to strain to see things and relaxes them.

This really helps me…lay a bag of ice on your head and just close your eyes for bout 15 mins(; hope this helps(listen to some music if you want… just relaxiz me and clears my head)

i put a warm washcloth over my eyes and relax.

just take some rest and just lsten to some music i prefer last christmas by jackson harris

Get your eyes checked out by an optometrist!!! I have worn glasses all of my life and your vision changing is the most common cause of eye aches. If that doesn't work, cool wet tea bags, any kind, can do wonders. Place on your eyes and flip them over as they get warm for at least 15 minutes. Mint works especially well if you have an accompanying headache.

Use an ice bag (or an ice cube wrapped in a dishcloth) to cool your eyes. This also works very well for eye pain caused by excessive exposure to sunlight or arc welders.

Put a slice of cucumber on each of the closed eyelids. Lie down and rest for 10 minutes.

Mix equal amounts of powdered liquorice and cumin seeds. Every day for a month, take 1/4 teaspoon of this with a teaspoon of honey.
