Dry nagging cough with tickle in throat???

I've had a cold/cough for over a week. My cough has been productive so the OTC cough meds have been controlling it. However tonight my cough has been non productive and just a dry nagging cough with that irritating tickle in the back of my throat that causes me to cough more. I have tried everything to control it. Delsum didn't work, cough drops didn't work, mucinex didn't work and I was so irritated and just wanted to sleep but couldn't stop coughing long enough to do anything. So, I tried honey and saliva and not sure how it did but it worked and I haven't coughed a bit! Super simple fix!

Just got my mouth super wet with my saliva and then put about a tablespoon (give or take) of organic raw honey (great value brand) in my mouth and swished it around with the saliva and swallowed. I know it might sound gross but it has worked wonders for me and I haven't coughed a bit for almost an hour. So now I'm going to lay down and sleep but keeping the honey on my bedside table!! Hope this helps someone in need!!

Ginger is one among the home remedies for cough. It is a naturally available analgesic that is commonly seen in most of the lozenges and cough syrups. This soothes irritation as well as scratchiness caused by cough and sore throat. The anti-inflammatory property of ginger leaves cleansing effects on the respiratory system. Let us see how to make a home remedy for cough with ginger. Take some small pieces of ginger and crush them. Add it to boiling water and let it boil for few minutes

I suffer from asthma and I get a lot of viral infections when I get a cough especially at night I make my self a cup of tea made with dry thyme leaves. The brand that works best for me is Badia. I put a cup of water with 4 tablespoons of dry Thyme leafs and then I let it boil for a minute. Next I strain out the water from the leafs. The taste might be to spicy but if you put some honey it really makes it easier to drink. For my kids I add a little of milk and honey. It takes about 30 minutes to work and it depends how bad is your cough you might want to repeat it. This has really helped me and my kids get a goodnight sleep. In addition if the kids wake up in the middle of the night coughing and they don't want to drink the tea you can always use a medicine syringe to help them take it. I hope it works for you.

For Cough cut ginger into peices and put it in jug of glass water, keep sippping this water the entire day. helped me a lot.
