82 Home Remedies for Abscesses and Boils

Anna

I was reading articles for home remedies for boils or abcesses. And, I wanted to support someone else who submitted their information. There is an illness that is called Hydratinitis. In other words, Hydra (for water) and ITIS for inflammation. Meaning, you were born and it is passed genetically with swollen sweat glands. They swell shut and this causes them to back up and create boils. Mostly people have the boils in their groin area and under the arms. I had this diagnosed when I was about 9 - I am 52 now and have met only 1 other doctor in all those years who had heard of this. The doctor who diagnosed me years ago - told me then that if it gets bad enough - and it did - they slice open the armpit and scrape off the sweat glands then after it heals over you don't get the boils anymore as long as they got the sweat glands. This surgery can not be done in groin area because there is not enough flesh to slice open so they cauterize each individual boil and if it gets bad again over time you can have it re-done. I never have. And, as I said I have rarely met a doctor who had one clue what this is!

Only yesterday I could hardly walk, sit or climb up or down the stairs. So excruciating was the pain from an anal abscess that had developed almost over night. I used some of the home remedies that many of you reccomended. In addition I got magnesium sulphate paste from the pharmacy and applied it on the boil and had two turmeric tablets and lay on the bed with my kindle and I pad. Within four hours the boil had burst and pain went down by at least 50%.
I am continuing to do the same until it disappears completely but I could have cried with joy.
Absolutely fantastic. Also I was spared the embarrassment of going to the doctor to have it seen!

My saddle sore got worse in 2 days that it developed to be a boil. I first underwent 3x30 min warm compress then followed by the toothpaste remedy overnight and it worked. The gauze got blood/puss on it. Not everything's drained.

I went to the Dr's today and prescribed me Cephalexin over 10 days plus staying in the hot tub with salt.

Toothpaste definitely worked!! I showered and applied my arm in hammer toothpaste which has baking soda ( I've seen people put Colgate but I don't believe it's the only brand that works apparently) overnight and the next morning it had bust open! I had been using the black salve and antibiotics prescribed for over a week and nothing happened. Toothpaste definitely will work! Good Luck!

I read the suggestions here. Some were...a bit over-complicated unnecessarily. Some were underwhelming. However, the recurring theme was black salve and heat.

Yesterday my boil was located on my lower right buttocks. It was golf ball sized, hard, hot, and EXTREMELY tender. Today it's pretty much gone.

I tried the Colgate toothpaste. I had it on for maybe 30 seconds before I was screaming in agony. I cleaned it off with a baby wipe immediately.

Instead, I cleaned the boil with betadine, applied black salve, and stuck a piece of guaze over it. I also applied heat to the area.
Within a couple hours it had opened up. The next morning when I went to the bathroom there was blood and pus everywhere. I hadn't expected such fast results. I cleaned myself up and repeated the betadine and black salve. By the end of the day, it was pretty much gone. I'm going to keep up with the routine for a few days because the directions say to do so. But I'm 90% better in under 24 hours.

i am a doctor and i have drained alot of abscesses and i know how painful it can be. a week ago i got an abscess in my perianal region. i treated it with some icthamol and antibiotic ointment but it just grew bigger. i know i had to go to the ER to get it drained. And from where its located i knew i probably needed an spinal anaesthia. i was too scared and embarresed to go. so i decided to go with some natural remedies. twice a day i had a warm bath with an antiseptic solution like Dettol. i let it soak for 15 mins. a relative recommeded fenugreek. you get the fenugreek seeds grind it to make a powder, mix it with some water to form a paste. apply it to the abscess over overnight. i made the paste and covered it with gauze and used a panty liner to stick it. the next day the abscess reduced significantly it was a size of a lime. some pus drained. i continued with the remedy. it was like a miracle.
hope this helps
