I have an anal boil that seemed to start with an itch. It turned into a finger tip sized swelling and I could feel the hard pea sized boil/abscess inside. It doesn't really hurt unless pressure in applied, a needle like pain, and can ache after a lot of walking. I've had a coupe in the past and just let them shrink away on its own. It does take weeks depending on the size. I read that hot water helps and you should make it as hot as you can take. I'm traveling so I'm making due in a hotel. Sitting in a hot bathtub cooled down quickly so I decided to try the direct route. I laid on my back in an empty tub with my legs in the air and the faucet directly over my anus and let the hot water run directly down on the boil. This approach applied super hot water directly to the affected area and it seems to be shrinking faster than before. A tip is to let the hot water cover the bottom of the tub and then drain it. It's much nicer laying down in a warm tub than a cold one. It devinately increases blood flow as I look like a red assed baboon afterward and it does relieve any ache. Never considered trying to burst it. To me that inviting another infection.
Ok guys I know there’s a lot of home remedies on, I just wanna share what worked for me even thou I did try the turmeric coconut oil paste so maybe that could’ve played it into it. So I first noticed I had a lump near the anus area and I knew it was just gonna continue to grow bigger painful because I have had one prior to this but just near the vaginal area and oh myyyyy that was mega painful that grew to size of a golf ball and I did not want this one to get anywhere near to the one I had before. Now I don’t have a bath so I couldn’t physically have an Epsom salt soak but what I did do was get a large shallow bucket big enough to fit my butt in to and sat in that bucket with the Epsom’s salt soak remedy I did this three times a day for about 20 mins and straight after I did apply the turmeric and coconut oil paste three times a day as well. But what I noticed was that after the Epsom salt soak I could see a head was forming but after I had applied the turmeric paste and left there bandaged up the head that appeared after the soak didn’t seem to be there anymore. So on day 2 I repeated the Epsom salt soak and then applied directly a paste made up of the Epsom salt and water onto the abscess and left it there overnight. Day 3 it erupted and all that nasty stuff started to ooze out, and what a relief that was!! I always find that Epsom salt works best and defo a hot soak as well
i have been suffering with this pus filled abcess just between my vagina and anus on leftside for past 4years and it comes once in a year.
i have the only home remedy sitz bath thats it. however whatever the effort u make it willtake atleast a week for the abcess to burst. All these days the pain will be like u will feel that u are in the hell and getting punished for some sin u made
Okay everyone I’ve had this abscess for about 6 days, well, Its been the size of a golf ball for the past 6 days. HOWEVER! I did something that made it pop and start draining immediately, but over past 2 days I’ve been applying apple cider vinegar to it so it may have helped too!! Definitely helped loosen it up so I’d reccomend using it first until you notice it loosen. Now unfortunately for y’all, I had the good fortune of getting a small portable massage chair that heats up for Christmas. XD! After reading some of these remedies some mentioning heat, I turned the heat on it and pressed it against my behind, it helped soothe it, and then I got curious to see if the massagers would help take the pain away, I turned it on at low setting and immediately took the pain away, and the busted soon after, maybe 5 minutes. So APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, HEAT, and for the ladies I guess you could improvise the massager with something else if you have it xD for the guys, get something that vibrates Idk xD. But nonetheless ACV and Heat did help a lot. But acv does burn and sting the hell out of you and it didn’t soothe it for very long, but still use it to loosen it up if you wanna try this! I’ve been in so much pain these last couple of days i know how you’re feeling, I scarred myself looking at google images for surgeries, don’t do it! I literally teared up. Haha.GOODLUCK TO YOU ALL, I REALLLLLY HOPE THIS HELPS!!:(
Success only with regimented change and care! If you want these nasty buggers to go away you must follow these important steps!
1. Nothing in the following steps will work if you don’t religiously follow this first step: change your diet.
Hi fiber no crap processed foods no extra fat no bullshit foods. Bland food diet, baked chicken rice root vegetables vegetables vegetables vegetables vegetables vegetables vegetables! Get my point! THE REASON WE ARE ALL IN THIS MESS LOOKING AT THIS BLOG IS BECUASE WE ALL HAVE BEEN STRAINING TOO MUCH AND TOO LONG GOING NUMBER 2! So if we don’t make the conscious effort to change our diet we will continue to strain when we’re sitting on the toilet and continue to be in this situation. It worked for me I like crappy food I made the change I go to bathroom once a day no straining this was the key to the success!
2. Take the Epsom salt bath 3 times a day 20 minutes minimum with out fail. Don’t use epsom salt with any fragrance or added crap to it, plain epsom salt and hot water. Best to do after going to bathroom and prior to Step 3.
3. Turmeric and Ghee (India clarified butter). Another stipulation do not skimp on the Ghee, find it get it and use it as your emulsifier do not use coconut stuff or petroleum jelly, only use ghee. Prior to bed, Mix a teaspoon of high-quality Turmeric powder with a tablespoon or so of ghee mix. Take an Epsom salt bath. Put the Ghee mixture on a gauze pad, slap it on the area and put another guauze pad over it. go to bed, do that three nights in a row.
DISCLAIMER - this stuff stains. It’s best to use underwear and clothes that you prefer never to wear again after this episode. Or that you’re going to designate to be worn on these three nights of shame. Leah towel in your bed try to lay on your side while you sleep. When you awake everything that mixture touch will be yellow it will be yellow for sometime. The sacrifice is worth it.
4. A lot of people on this blog are nervous to consult a doctor. Please don’t do that. It’s best just to check in with your doctor you can tell your doctor like I did that I’m not up for a surgery option and Can you please help me try to remedy this at home without surgery, they will oblige. They don’t want to have to do surgery they would prefer you to get better without surgery. But, if there is a problem and the infection is a big one it’s best to get it seen and fixed by a professional. Either way a medical professional is going to tell you to 1 and 2 for relive along with an OTC hemmroid dream in place of 3. My doctor said to go for the Ghee and turmeric in place of OTC cream.
5. Try to stay calm. This condition hurts physically, mentally and just plain sucks but ALAS THIS TOO SHALL PASS. One way or the other they will go away but we are the masters of this quest, no one else so stay sturdy and steadfast with these steps.
My next quest is to never have these things come back so I am religiously without fail no matter what the situation is no excuses following number one for the rest of my time on this orb! Good luck to you.
Turmeric and ghee
Whilst on holiday I got a anal abscess and was prescribed antibiotics for 3 days by a doctor. Afraid this wasn’t going to fully clear the infection, and not wanting to have to undergo surgery in a foreign country, I tried the turmeric and coconut oil paste. I put it on at night and a few hours later noticed blood on the cotton pad. After soaking it in warm water more pus and blood began to drain out to my relief.
I still have a week left of the holiday and want to make sure I keep it as clean as possible to avoid further infection. I wondered what methods people believe are best for fully draining the boil and preventing further infection? Also is there any way to prevent this turning into a fistula? Thanks
I promised myself I would post what worked for me, so here it is.
Heat patches. The ones manufactured by Deep Heat for joint and muscle pain. Just slap a patch on the abscess and let it heat up your butt for 8 hours. It's like a warm compress that retains heat for much, much longer than a hot cloth does. It burst mine within a few hours.
Heat increases blood flow to the area, turns off the local pain signals, brings the boil to the surface, and softens the skin, all of which makes it more likely to rupture.
So I only chanced on this thread this morning and realized what I was suffering from was not piles but an Abscess. I was in so much pain and reading through all the remedies. Since I didn’t have access to the ingredients I used what was available to me which is hemorrhoids ointment (most of you might be familiar with preparation H, anusol and other ointments). I applied it just like I Would on my piles and took diclo for the pain. The drug knocked me out and when I woke up the pain had gotten worse so I took to one of my moms piles pain remedy. 3 or 5 table spoonful of salt and hot water in a basin, then added cold water to make it not extremely hot (you don’t want to cook your bum). After I did a few dips just to get my skin used to the hot water then I sat in. It burns for a few minutes but eases the pain rapidly. I sat there until the water was almost cold. I could feel the abscess increase in size (it doubled in size) but with no pain. I applied the piles ointment again and I’m waiting for it to open up and drain itself. Let me know if this works. (I am repeating this remedy about 4 - 5 times a day until it bursts open).
I am a 27 year old woman who has regularly has cystic issues. Dermal, ovarian, behind my eye socket, the works. Surgery for all. Three years ago, almost to date, i got my first perianal abscess. Since then, every year, almost to the date every time, I have gotten another. As someone who cannot afford insurance or a $1000 trip to the emergency room every year, I wouldn't want to go back a ain this year when my abscess start again on Monday. Not to mention the pain of having it, let alone the excruciating pain I went through last time having the I&D, I was refusing to go back to a doctor. I ended up here looking for a home cure, despite seeing the many things online saying that an abscess needs to be handled by a medical professional. I saw the recipe for a home poulpice (a term I've never heard) made of equal parts coconut oil, turmeric, and baking powder along with 10-15 drops of tea tree oil.
Desperate to not go back to a doctor, I started applying the paste within a layer of gauze while I slept from Monday to Wednesday night, along with hot Epsom baths, I tried. It felt worse, like the mix wasn't working... come Thursday morning I was in horrible pain and went to an urgent care center.
When the doctor came in, I was in tears afraid of having another painful I&D, she went to look and see, and immediately mentioned that it looked as if it would pop on its own. I was ecstatic. She prescribed my augmentin for 10 days and after hearing of the poulpice I'd neen using, as as she thinks that it was working because after 4 days, it should have been ripe. She sent me home and said to come back if it got worse.
That night, I applied the same mixture, woke up to pee, in terrible pain (to where just sitting on the toilet had me in tears), removed the poulpice and went back to sleep with a maxipad on. When I woke up in the morning, I sat up with almost no pain. The abscess had drained on its own while I slept.
I'm not saying to ignore medical attention, especially since something home treated can end up worse, however for those who have done this numerous times, gone through so much pain from reoccurring abscesses, the recipe recommended further back, it worked for me and couldn't be more appreciative.
Though it's drained mostly, I am still applying the poulpice at night, and we'll as applying hot compresses so help. I also take a hot sitz bath (2 cup Epsom salt in hot water) after every bowel movement, when I can.
The burn described really wasn't anything compared to the abscess pain as described. That did scare me a bit, but it wasn't the pain I thought it to be.
The original recipe I saw was 3 tablespoons coconut oil, 2 tablespoons turmeric powder, 2 tablespoons baking POWDER (not soda) and 10-15 drops of tea tree oil. I never used that much, as it was unnecessary for one night and the remaining paste would dry and drain literally EVERYTHING. I just made a small batch every night of equal parts and wrapped it in a single layer of gauze, almost like a taco. I put it directly against the abscess with extra gauze padding outside to keep in, and then put in a heavy duty maxipad, just in case, and left in while I slept.
It got so much worse before it was better. Again, I will say don't avoid medical attention, even I paid to see a doctor, but it worked for me. I hope this helps everyone else too!
