My 6 month old was constipated for a week and a half from the rice cereal. She did not display any crankiness but was always sweating, had stinky gas, and was always sleeping. So I did child's suppository in small amounts for two days and that did not work, put apple juice in a bottle with filtered water which did not work so finally I read up on light Karo syrup and I put 1 teaspoon at the bottom of the bottle and pour two ounces of warm breast milk and then fed her the rest of the warm breast milk and within 15-20 minutes 2 weeks worth of poo came out. I was sooo happy. She did not indicate that was in pain as she emptied her bowels but the light karo syrup did the job. 5 poop filled diapers but a happy crawling baby was greatful for the relief
Name it i did it.. Watered down formula, juices, soapy water, vasline, meds. Nothing worked.. I read n read all 14 comments n tried everything possible for days.. Nothing worked.. Finally i applied piles cream. It comes with a tube u can put through his butt trust me it was painful for me to do this to him. But much more worse to c him cry in pain day after day. But it didn't hurt him.. After an hour or so he tried to poop but it was just so bad that all he could do was put pressure n cry in pain. Then i had to put q tip in his but n pull the stuff out.. This process took me a while n a lot of pulling of the poop.. Finally.. Bam!! All of it came out.. My 5 month old had been constipated for a week.. After it was done i cleaned him n latched him.. He happily sucked my milk n fell a sleep.. Please try this if nothing works n u wanna free ur baby and urself from this pain..
My daughter is 5 months old..She was a collic newborn and now has bad reflux..the formula she is on gives her constipation and now shes having some solids it got worse...for 5 days she would scream and grunt and strain..i felt so bad for her..i tried massages..warm baths ect..even brown sugar with water...nothing worked....i ended up giving her 20mls of pear juice mixed with 130mls of water...she drank about 5-10mls and wammo she pooped immediately with no discomfort...ive never been so proud nor seen my precious so happy..so remember PEAR JUICE AND WATER :)
i always give apple juice. my baby can never poop when she is given milk and once she drinks apple juice, it softens up the poop. another thing that really work when she was under one i gave her karo syrup. one tablespoon of syrup and the rest of the bottle with water mix together, i promise you it works. trust me i would hate to see my baby suffer trying to poop
Soak 1 spoon of Isoop Goal (Ayurvedic seeds of a Flower) in 1 cup of water and let it blow a bit and let liquid becomes slimy. Feed 1-2 spoon of Isoop Goal liquid in all the food that you give to your infant. This is a precautionary method for avioding constimation without any side effects. I have tried it on my 7 month old infant and it works perfect.
My daughter is 2 and has had horrible problems with constipation ever since she was a baby and taken off breast milk. Her pediatrician prescribed medication that worked but there was no middle ground. She was either constipated or 'blowing out the back'. Not to mention it tasted so bad it was a struggle to get her to take it. Since then we have switched to a new doctor and she recommended Mira-lax. It is not a quick fix but it got her system working like normal. She can only take 4 grams twice a day, but check with your doctor for a proper dose. It’s great because you mix it with milk or juice and she takes it right down.
I had tried everything suggested, by everybody it seemed hopeless that my 5 month old would ever poop. She was sooo constipated she screamed when she tried to have a bowl movement and nothing would come out. So last resort before we headed to the doctor, I put Vaseline on the end of a Q-Tip and put it in her rectum and swirled it around for a couple seconds and SHAZAM out came 4 days worth of poop. I think I was more relived than her, she just smiled:)
If your baby is constipated , give them a three ounce bottle with warm water and add a half of ounce of syrup.
This will loosen their bowls and make it easier to go.
prepare warm bathby adding backing soda to the bath. a couple of tablespoons should do the trick.
mix 1-2 ozs of Pear Juice with an equal amount of water. Caution: a little pear juice goes a long way ;-)
