When stung by an ant, it really hurts. What I do is I cut up some onion and gently massage the juice onto the swelling. This will help reduce the pain or stop it in some cases.
use clorox bleach or hydrogen peroxide on any bites from wasp, hornet , ant or chiggers or mosquitoes.
just use a little on the end of finger an rub in lightly to mix with air it will turn white.
but if its a lot so stings then just splash it on the effect will take a few mins so you might have to rub it a min or more.
if too many ant or bee bites give the patient an oral antihistamine tablet crushed to keep the itching down so they dont go crazy itching.
they can go into a coma from the itching / histamine reaction from the bites so give it to them right away.
warm water can be used to neutralize the leftover bleach on skin. after the itching stops.
this can save someones life
when i was a kid i always ran barefoot in the yard. so when i got bit by fire ants my dad would take a pinch of tobacco, spit on it and put it on the bite. i guess its purpose was to pull the sting out. it worked.
Anybody who lives outside of the cities in Australia probably has met Bull ants, Jack-jumpers, inch-men etc all of which have a rather nasty sting that can be very painful for a long while and sometimes itch for weeks. Now nature has provided an antidote for this that works much better than antihistamine (if you even have it) and this is freely available bracken fern, not the mature ones but the youngest ones that are just unfurling. Crush the juice out of them and apply on the sting simple as that. Pain will soon go and no serious itching. This is not something I read in a book it was passed down to me 40+ years ago by a 70 year old man (at the time) who like myself lived and worked in the bush.. Hope this may be of help to somebody
PS..also remember the best solution for burns of any kind is honey. Another old bush remedy that works
