135 Home Remedies for Tooth with Exposed Nerve

I have been alternating rinsing with warm salt water and rinsing with water & myrrh oil and applying a combination of essential oils to the tooth. The combo includes clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary, oregano and wild orange.

Okay, so I'm not here to tout any remedy because none of them that I tried worked. I went through all the ones I could try at 1:30 AM in the last half hour without pharmaceutical supplies, and I got no relief. Clove oil didn't work, onion didn't work, none of the tooth paste brands recommended worked, Listerine gave me exactly 37 seconds of relief before the pain came back, vanilla was a bust, green tea didn't work, tea bags didn't work, both vinegar and apple cider vinegar didn't work, salt water didn't work, gum didn't work, ice cold water was horrible and shocked half my jaw, no tablet has helped in the last NINE DAYS and my additional crying from lack of food, sleep, and extreme pain isn't helping.

I'm a teen and school starts in T-minus six hours, and I can't sleep with this pain. I have a pack of grated frozen coconut on my face which hurts my face despite being swaddled in cloth, and I hope it numbs my jaw enough that I won't feel my tooth at all. So wish me goodluck at ignoring the gaping hole that is 1/3 of my right molar.

I have a giant hole in my back molar, but I can barely pay rent let alone afford any kind of dental care. But the pain is so unbearable, its given me skull crushing migraines (which has been going on a few days now). The root is exposed and I need some pain relief that wont break the bank. Baking soda + Salt infused water relieves the pain for about 2 minutes at a time but I need something that will help a little longer than that.

I have tried everything. EVERYTHING. And this god forsaken tooth is still killing me. Every remedy I've found does not work. The only one that works temporarily, and by temporarily I mean 30 seconds, is shwooshing cold water. I've never been in more pain in my whole life. I'm on antibiotics now and I'm taking pain killers but nothing is helping at all. SOS, folks.

Swish with a mixture of 1/2 cap full of warm water, a "pinch" of salt and a cap full of Listerine for 2 minutes. Repeat as needed.

I've had a bad tooth that's needed to be pulled for quite awhile now but can't afford it. I have no idea why this works, but this is the only remedy that works every time. It also works for clearing clogged sinuses.

No remedy I'm afraid. I just want to share my frustration at severe dental pains like that. I've always been lucky with my teeth until recently when I started experiencing sharp pains from my teeth when I passed over that area of my face with a flannel. I saw a dentist and she saw no issue. The situation has worsened and now I get horrible pains when I clean my upper front teeth which then echoes up my face like an electric shock. :( I don't know what to do.

Black tea bag. Completely wet with as hot of water you can take just until the tea can seep out. Apply to affected tooth

and hold there for 20-30 minutes. Spit out excess saliva (there will be a lot) into a cup. You can interchange tea bags and you can do this up to 4 times a day. This method works by the tea drawing out the infection from your tooth so do not swallow any of it. I read that it can be done repeatedly throughout a day indefinitely but I did this 1 time for 30 minutes for a toothache I thought could kill me and the pain 30 minutes later was gone and didn't reappear before I was able to have my tooth fixed a month later. Best wishes and good luck

I have a broken tooth and an exposed nerve, I keep getting electric shock pain and its excrutating. I cant eat or sleep, and have been taking Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. It's just taking the pain away.Having been in this agony before thankfully I know Wat to do.

Firstly brush with high fluoride toothpaste and warm water make sure you rinse with a good mouthwash.

Then take strong painkillers and apply Clove oil to a cotton bud and apply to the tooth. The Clove oil will kill any infection and Numb the nerve.

Seek a dentist.

I have also vanilla extract apply ed to the tooth via cotton also works.

I feel everyone's pain. I recently broke one of my wisdom teeth and had an exposed nerve. Let me tell you this is the worst pain for many people because it will not let up. Well the only thing that would work for me was ice cold water. It would take the pain away temporarily. I would swoosh it around in my mouth and spit it out when the pain would start again and repeat. It is a temporary fix and takes the edge off. I was like this for 2 days without rest and finally had to go to ER and the numbed my infected wisdom tooth with something injected with a needle. The pain was gone for about 8 hours but I finally got some sleep. The next morning went to the Dentist did ex rays and showed I needed my impacted wisdom tooth removed with the molar. I proceed to the oral surgeon and thought I was going to get my teeth taken out that day to the disappointment of a next day oral surgery. I begged him for some relief and He numbed my teeth with a needle and wiggled it around to try and take pressure off the nerve, it worked plus He gave a prescription for oxycodone it worked. Went back the next day and had them removed while awake. The pain having them removed is minimal and now I'm thankful there out. Both the Dentist and Oral Surgeon saw me with the ice cold water and told me that is one of the only things that takes the pain away for a very short period of time. It sucks swishing cold water in your mouth but takes the terrible pain away. The only real remedy is to have tooth removed to solve the problem. I hope this helps someone out there because I felt your pain.

I have been dealing with bad teeth for many years and many nights of restless sleep or even none at all. I have felt pain like never before. With the most extreme pain ever felt from the human body, I found an instant relief with chewing on minced onion enough to moisten it and get it right into the hole of the decayed tooth or teeth with the exposed nerve. Hours of extreme pain gone once and for all. I can now sleep like a new born baby.
