55 Home Remedies for Kidney Infection

I have suffered from kidney infections since the age of 14. Dr's have never been able to figure out why, but I finally gave up on going to the doctor, just to pay for tests that concluded what I already knew.

At the first sign of infection, I start taking cranberry pills, dandelion root (a natural diuretic that will help flush your system), echinacea (an immunostimulator) and garlic pills (a natural antibiotic). Take I take 2 of each pill, twice per day and feel nearly immediate relief. If symptoms have been present for a couple of days before starting the regime, I take a dose of colloidal silver for the first day or two to kick start the ejection of the infection.

Just because you feel relief doesn't mean you are in the clear! Continue this regime for a week or so (as you would with any medicine) to be sure the infection is gone!

I made tea with sweet basil and black pepper and got better in hours. I added a little honey for flavor but add the honey after tea is made to preserve the enzymes in honey. It actually makes a pretty pleasant tea.

I suffer from kidney infections all the time. Recently started to wear waist warmers (brand is hippsy) and despite the odd name they work a wonder by keeping my lower back and belly warm, had no problems or pain since. Also helps with my arthritis..

This is only a recommendation so it is important to ask your health care provider before use, since not all herbal and supplements work the same for everyone.

I had been suffering for over a year with recurrent kidney infections and UTIs. I went to several doctors and they could not find the cause and kept insisting that I wasnt drinking enough water(even though I was drinking more than enough. After a year of research and help from a herbalist, i can now say I am pain free No more kidney infections!

I drink the following teas to support my Kidneys:
Dandelion root and Rinosan Tea daily

With the following Supplements:
Cranberry veggie caps
Magnesium 100 mg 3X a day(great for breaking calcium deposits that collect in the kidneys because of caffeine & protein intake AKA kidney stones)
Potassium 3X a week this dosage varies on the person
Multi vitamin

Drink lots of water, avoid sugars use honey instead, and try to eat less meat or chicken, go organic, and if you can go vegetarian!

I hope this helps, first week of taken this I expelled four kidney stones, none which appeared in my 3 ct scans that had been made.

I want to thank all the people who took time to submit remedies to this site. I felt a kidney infection beginning a couple of months after I'd been treated with cipro, which left me with multiple digestive problems. After I read the suggestions, I took d-mannose 1 tesp. three times a day, colloidal silver twice a day, and triple strength cranberry capsules with the d-mannose. Today I just returned from the doctor and there is no sign of an infection! This is great news as I have polycystic kidneys and and very prone to infection. I also did cut down on all dairy products and drank lots of water.

I had 2 kidney infections last year. The first one got to the point where I was in such terrible pain that I had to go to the emergency room; but I was able to catch the 2nd one before it got to that point. Both times i took antibiotics. Recently, I felt a slight pain in that same familiar area so before it progressed I knocked it out by doing this:
~ Triple Strength Cranberry Concentrate Soft Gels twice a day
~ Mix: 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar & 1 teaspoon of raw honey & 8oz of warm water, drink all of it within a minute and do this 3-4 times a day
~ mix about 1/4 cranberry juice & 3/4 water together and drink constantly throughout the day
....I did this for a week and the infection cleared up. I doubt this will work once the infection has started to spread but if you can catch it early enough, this should work.

I AM 60 YEARS OLD AND HAD A GRANDMOTHER THAT NEVER WENT TO A DOCTOR UNTIL SHE WAS 86 YEARS OLD. HER HEALTH WAS BETTER THAN MINE. SHE HAD TONS OF REMEDIES BUT FOR KIDNEY INFECTION SHE RECOMMENDED 1/2 TSP BAKING SODA IN AN 8 OZ GLASS 3-4 TIMES A DAY. IT'S CLEARS UP IN MATTER OF DAYS. MY DOCTOR WAS AMAZED WITH HER HOME REMEDIES AND ALWAYS EXPLAIN WHY THEY WORKED. HOPE THIS HELPS.

i felt a kidney infection coming on and if you've ever had one you know what the pain is. i honestly believe that nothing will cure it except antibiotics, but at this moment im trying something my mother said would help, CONCENTRATED LEMON JUICE WITH WATER OR HOT TEA, 2 TABLE SPOONS PER 8 OUNCES. THE LEMON CLEANSES YOUR LIVER AND KIDNEY, IT ALSO HELPS WITH U.T.I's AND SO FAR IVE DRANK 3 GLASSES OF IT AND IM ALREADY FEELING RELIEF, AND WHEN I WOKE UP I WAS IN SEVERE PAIN, EVEN CALLED IN TO WORK....SO HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS SOMEONE
