I discovered hemoform serum about 2 years ago. It's now the only thing I use for my cold sores - and they are gone in record time. I don't know what the person who rated it 1 is talking about. This stuff works way better and faster than tablets - and the additional ingredients help to sooth the sore itself! A really great product!!

Well I have had this since I was early twenties, I read about applying an ice cube directly on the site as soon as you feel that tingly sensation. I literally just had the situation and I immediately grabbed a cube and a few others and it cured it before the blister happened. They say that you shouldn't apply it directly because it can cause harm. I have not had any harm since doing this and I am 39. When you feel the tingly sensation, you grab a cube or if you're at work, go on a break. Put the ice directly on the site and wait for the burning sensation to kind of fade. I would say until you feel numb and hold it a longer until you feel that's you killed the virus. I usually keep it on the site for more than 20 min.

Now, the site causes heat and so does your breathing, so you will need more than 1 ice cube. Keep a constant pressure while you feel the burn,it will stop burning after a bit, but don't stop. After about 8 to 10 mins, remove the ice (if the ice melts before the time, apply another).. If you still feel that sensation, apply it again immediately and keep doing the same steps until you only feel like something died under the spot. If you remove the ice and see a raised bump, apply the ice again immediately and keep it there until you don't feel that sensation. Just because your spot is numb, doesn't mean you killed the virus. The virus dies under cold extremes and hence why the ice works. I would recommend that in between the first time you switch ice cubes that you wash your face with cold water. It can spread if the smallest blister burst. Well hope this helps and mind you, I think this only applies if you have the less extreme herpes or cold sores.

I've tried every home remedy (ice, nail polish remover, toothpaste, etc) and NOTHING ever worked and the sore would take at least 8 days to look somewhat normal with make up. Woke up Sunday with a blister already forming. Got a script for Valtrex but the sore was already big and noticeable. Read this sight with the same old ice/toothpaste/salt etc suggestions that don't work for me until I saw a remedy for egg protein. I peeled the inside white part of an egg and put it on the sore. As it dried I could feel it 'throbbing' underneath. When it dried it was very white and stayed stuck to the sore pretty well. I peeled it off and the sore seemed to be smaller and flatter. I kept putting new egg protein on the sore and each time it got better and better. It seemed to fast forward to the healing stage. Today is Friday (5 days in, usually at its worst, most noticeable stage) and I just used egg protein again and now it's almost completely gone. Easily covered by make up so I can go to work tonight and not feel like everyone is staring at me. Not many remedies work past the tingle stage but this worked and is still working today. Please, please try this I would love to know if it works for others. Also, unlike putting toxic chemicals on your lips/face the egg protein doesn't harm the surrounding skin making the problem worse.

I have been getting cold sores for years. I have tried many OTC ointments with marginal luck. I recently tried Kanka. Kanka is for tooth and gum pain but it seems to work very well on cold sores. It sure cut down healing time.

I have tried every remedy under the sun. What works best for me is at the first sign of one (tingle, redness) ICE! Ice the sore for at least 20 minutes 3 times daily to prevent it from surfacing, if you can more, do it! I had to go to the doctor for a prescription... Acyclivor cream and the oral pill will get rid of the sore in a few days. If you can't get to a doctor, the ice method is the best. Stay out of the sun and away from heat in general. Cold air & water. Ice and stay in AC! :) hope it helps

I've had cold sores for years, especially when I get stressed out about something. A few months ago a friend told me about Vivicin Cold Sore Cream. I liked that it's full of natural ingredients so I tried it and it really worked! By day 2 my cold sore was almost gone, and it did not burn like other creams. It makes your lips super smooth, and you can apply it any time you're stressed to keep the cold sore from erupting! Available only online.

this is my first time ever getting a cold sore due to me having the flu so as I'm sure you can imagine I woke up horrified but I had to be at work in 3 hours & I was NOT walking into my office like that!! So I decided to attack back! I doused a rough rag in alcohol & I firmly rubbed until some of the blisters popped & then I used a sterile safety pin for the more stubborn ones. Once they were all popped I held pressure with a rag doused in more alcohol for about 30-45 minutes (replenishing the alcohol every so often) then I applied ice on & off for the rest of the day & by that very same night the swelling was gone & I just had the wound from the blisters. Just remember the more uncomfortable you make them the quicker they will go. i also doubled up on my vitamins

ICE, so as soon as you feel that tingling, burning or itching sensation put ice on the spot. Cold sores thrive in warm moist places, so the ice helps to slow it down. Also take 1000mg-3000mg of lysine a day at the first sight of a cold sore, speeds up the healing time. Use either alcohol, witch hazel or ginger to rub on the area as A drying agent. You can also find Lysine in a topical form to apply directly to the sore. I am not sure if one of these things work better than the other because I do all 3 and I am not willing to try and find out, I cannot walk around with one of those big nasty things on my lip. I swear none of those over counter creams work, over the years I have probably purchased everyone in hopes that something would work, but none ever did they just always seem to make them worse and cause them to spread. I still have a scar on my lip to this day from a really bad cold sore I had when I was in middle sore. With the 3 things I have been doing a blister has not formed on my lip and the swelling has went down extremely, at this point my lip is red where the cold sore is trying to form. I hope this can help someone as it has helped me

I get cold sores now and again. I've tried everything. Some things help a little, some do nothing. Then I read about L-Lysine. So the other day I felt that tingling on my lip and saw those little dots on my lip that become monsters. So I went and got a big bottle of L-Lysine pills. I took a lot. 4000mg right away. Another 4000mg about 8hours later and another 2000mg before bed. Next day same thing. Guess what- no cold sore. It never even appeared. Even though I could see it beginning to form at first it never grew it just went away.
I'm not sure how safe it is to consume 10,000mg of L-Lysine in a day two days in a row but it worked. So that's my cure- not sure how safe it is but I had no side effects. Good luck.

I've been suffering with cold sores since I can remember, probably even before I could walk. I tried everything from pure vanilla extract to abreva. What I find that works 100 percent for me is my favorite perfume. Just spray a bit on your finger apply to the effected area and repeat every 4-6 hours within 2 days it will start drying up. It's amazing.
