After brushing your teeth very well, soak a Q Tip in some Extra Strength Liquid Tylenol Cold & Flu. Rub on effected area. may just surprise you.
I cracked a tooth and it hurt whenever I closed that side of my mouth because the tooth hit the opposite row of more teeth.
My solution for the pain was err... different. I found some weatherstripping and was intrigued that it was squishy. I cut a piece off and gripped it between my teeth that were not hurt keeping a gap possible so that the hurt tooth could not touch the others sending me pain all along that side of my mouth. The pain felt like 5 teeth were hurt so it was probably nerve pain. The pain was so intense that when I moaned the vibration made it worse so I kept holding my breath to deal with the waves of it.
After two nights of sleeping with the cushioning between the teeth and using it intermittently in the daytime, the tooth does not hurt and I finally ate on that side of my mouth. For now it seems to have closed off that painful gap it had.
Suffered all night with toothache from a recently broken wisdom tooth, gargle salt water and chew half a clove of garlic for 10 mins, it burns your mouth but it worked for me, rinse afterwards with salt water again, pain went from a 9 to a 1 in less than 5 mins.
I had a horrible toothache, of course it was due to my love of jelly beans but so far the one that works is a ib profen pm disolving in the area and brushing it so hard it hurts then numbs the area, so that with the profen pm disolving inbetween the gums and tooth is working wonders
Listerine or similar mouthwash can help with toothaches. It just numbs the nerves.

The toothache I had was so painful it even hurt to talk. My cheek and tongue would constantly touch my tooth, which made it even more painful, even to spit when I rinsed. I found a combination that worked great for me, however it only would last 4 to 5 hours at a time but that was great. First rinse out your mouth with mouthwash. I used the zero alcohol type. Rinse over the tooth real good. Next, rinse over your tooth with warm salt water real good, for several minutes just like the mouthwash. Then, take 500 mg of acetaminophen, then take 400 mg of ibuprofen. This combination is safe and works for migraines as well. I felt relief within 10 to 20 minutes. This worked for me for one of the most painful aches I've ever had.
I have this bad toothache (wisdom tooth) that I just want to cry, but my mom said to put cloves(spice) in your mouth 2 Or 3 depends how much pain you are in. You can chew Or bite down on them. You can crush them up and put them in hot water. You will find relief in a few minutes until you can see a dentist. And it gives you fresh breath!

Curing toothaches: I don't know about you, but I get severe toothaches. I've tried then tooth paste remedy, it didn't work, salt, didn't work. Orajel helps but before the pain in my mouth subsides, the orajel is washed around in my mouth from all of the saliva it creates. I just cured my throbbing tooth simply by taking oragel severe pain P.M. and squeezing it in my cavity, then wadding up a piece of fine cloth and sticking it over top of the oragel. It was instant relief! Just be careful biting down on the cloth to hard, it may cause discomfort. A MUST TRY
