I had been dying for days now with a Horrible toothache....I tried the vinagre ( held it in my mouth for about a min. and then applied vanilla extract soaked in a cotton ball and it worked!
i sat up crying all night last night with the worst toothache i've ever had. my back molar has an old filling and part of my tooth broke off. not a lot, just a little but it was enough to keep me up all night. i tried so many of the remedies i read on here and the only thing that semi worked was salt water and mouthwash. i took a lot of ibuprofen and tylenol, baby asprin, used cloves, a tea bag, massaged my hand...everything. i went to the e.r. this morning cuz i really couldn't stand it anymore. i've never had pain like this where NOTHING helped. they gave me a shot of toridol (an anti inflammatory) and vicodin. even then, it wasn't totally better. i also got some benzodent. the combination of everything is finally helping. if you hurt like i did, i really feel for you. also, if you try and try and try, just go to the e.r. til you can get to a dentist...
Take a 2in x 2in piece of paper towel and place 1 tsp of clove powder in the center. Fold in sides and bottom then roll it up to make a packet. then moisten the packet with clove oil for the instant relief and as long as you keep that packet between gum and tooth there will be no pain for at least 8 - 10 hours then replace with another packet.
so far what i have done is peroxide and ibuprofen and some serious praying. it is actually starting to calm down. thank God.
I have tried all sorts of remedies on various sites. Let me tell you though I have horrible teeth. Some of my roots and bones are exposed. No joke. What works best for me (it sometimes wears off early but makes it more bearable) is I take 600mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours. 2 to 3 hours after i take the Ibuprofen (Advil), I take 2 500 mg extra strength Tylenol. I literally take the 600 mg of Ibuprofen as soon as 6 hours is up. And the same with the Tylenol. I also use the Orajel Medicated Toothache swabs (the qtip kind that has the liquid in it). I also sometimes rinse with Listerine. I know theres not much special about what I do, but the combo of Ibuprofen and Tylenol helps. I also have bad gums and some of my teeth are decayed near my gum line. So my pain gets real severe. This seems to help.
My son has been experiencing serious tooth pain. I've gone through this myself with abcessed tooth pain. When it comes to your teeth, the word pain just doesn't fit. There's another word for it that probably isn't allowed, lol.
I knew about the tea. I found that one on my own. That is the first thing I grab when mine begin to start up. I now have two teeth that are a problem. One more serious than the other. And an excellant remedy for anyone who has a hole in their tooth causing serious pain. It's called Dent's extra strength Toothache Gum. I swear by it, mine is between two teeth so I pack it in. It's a little sore at first, that's from the newly applied pressure when you put it in.
Here's the order I use when I put this in:
1. If it hurts -> tea
2. Brush the area where your gonna be putting this gum stuff (it's more like a mix between gum and way with fibers in it)
3. Rinse with water (you don't want any food in that tooth!
4. Pack it in!
5. You will find that it'll take a little time getting it worked in there.
I've been using this for a year and a half on the same tooth! By all means see the dentist, but if money is a problem as for me. This stuff is the absolute best. You'll see for yourself.
I found it at Wal-Greens. If you can't find it, here is a link to the distributor. Maybe a call to them will help to find it. Plus, there is a picture of the exact product package.
(It will not allow links) so you'll have to add in the 'w's' and dots. Hope it works, if not search for Grandpabrands. The phone number on the package is 1 800 684-1468
One application for me last between 2-4 weeks. Plus, I have noticed, this tooth hasn't broken down like my other one (same tooth, but on the opposite side)
It also worked for another tooth that had little holes (cavity). I just brushed then rubbed it in over the tooth. This was last week. The pains gone. It will not work for teeth that have the root exposed. (yeah, I have one) The root is dead, but other teeth that start to hurt along the nerve always agitates it.
I really hope all of you find relief some way or another. I feel your pain. It's not even near a funny thing when they begin to hurt. When relief comes, good grief, ya kinda feel like you got a second chance in life. Lol. I think some will understand that. Good Luck, sincerely...
I've gotten through all sorts of dental problems with ibuprofen and cheese. If I hold a piece of cheese in your mouth for a while, it lessens the pain. It works with cheddar, mozzarella, and gouda, in my experience.
For a toothache I swished around Toms of Maine Cleansing spearmint mouthwash. It takes 80% of the pain away almost immediately. I've been suffering from a dull-ache (quite painful though) in my upper left back molar that has already had a root canal done a few years ago. Not sure why it's hurting but it is. I haven't used that mouthwas in a few years but it was still good. It has no alcohol in it but it has witchhazel and aloe in it. It's very soothing. Although, I still can't bite down on food or anything but the constant pain is mostly gone.
Toothache in the night. I first used salt water. Swished it around & let in sit on tooth for a bit. Then I put a green tea bag under warm water til it was moist & added about 5 drops of clove oil. Wrapped it around my molar(top tooth) & sort of bit down a tad to keep it in place. Left it on 4 about 20 minutes & it took the pain away. This morning tooth started hurting again so I did the same routine & it's been 3 hours & it still doesn't hurt. Still a tad tender but major pain gone!! OH I took 2 extra strength Tylenol each time too.
Unrefined grey sea salt and Tea Tree Oil. I appy the Tea Tree Oil to the tooth and take and Excedrin . This has really work for me. The unrefined grey sea salt I rinse my mouth . instant relief. And I always pray, because I know the God will not put more on you can bare.
