What always works for me is to take a very hot bath. Sometimes I spend two hours in there. Just relax, you don't even have to wash up. After you get out, don't get dehydrated, but don't chug liquid. My mom always has me either suck on an ice cube or sip CLEAR liquids through a straw. Much on some saltine or oyster crackers if you get hungry, but don't overdo it!
Mint helps with nausea & vomiting. You can use mint tea or in a pinch melt a pepermint hard candy in hot water. For long term use be sure to add a little milk as it kills the tannins which can cause cancers.
Fresh ginger also helps quite a bit. You can actually keep ginger root in the fridge for quite some time.
