Try warm salted water which you should rinse your mouth with. Hot tea with honey

I found the best way to get rid of sore throats is to gargle with Betadine, or else Vodka. Both seem to kill bacteria straight away. Best to gargle as soon as you feel a sore throat coming on.

Gargle several times a day with antiseptic mouthwash.
That's it!
I'm not kidding.

Listerine Antiseptic works well or a mouthwash for people who've had dental surgery. Go out and get some now.

My experience: I suffered with sore throats and tonsillitis since I was 2 or 3 years old. I'd get it ALL the time.
I'd have tonsillitis at least 3 times a year, discussed with several doctors about having my tonsils removed- they all said 'it won't really stop your sore throats...'
By my late 20s my tonsils were so enlarged from all the repeat infections that they constantly looked swollen and pockmarked.
When infected, the back of my mouth, tongue and throat would be covered in ulcers which would ooze puss and bleed... it was not pretty. It would hurt so much I couldn't even sip water or swallow my own saliva.
I'd try to take pain killers or sip tea with lemon and honey... with tears running down my face because it hurt so much.

One day I walked into my local walk-in clinic to get yet another prescription for antibiotics- it was my 3rd that year for tonsillitis.
There was a middle-aged no-nonsense afro-caribbean nurse on duty who looked at me with a tired 'yet another drug seeker' look and was about to send me away until she looked in my mouth and just said 'oh dear', reached into the cupboard behind her and just handed me some antibiotics telling me to take one right then and there.

I thanked her and we chatted a little bit. I was tired and sick with a fever and just wanted to go home and back to my bed. But I asked her advice anyway about what I could do to stop this from happening all the time.

She told me about the antiseptic mouthwash.
Her daughter had also suffered from tonsillitis for years and had found that as long as she used the mouthwash at the very first sign of sore throat- when you feel the first 'scratchiness'- then you never get the infection in the first place.

Anyway, it sounded reasonable and I thought I might as well try it.
I'd tried everything else.

That was 5 years ago and I have not had a single sore throat since that day.
That woman deserves a medal in my opinion.
When I think of all the years of pain... agh, it makes me so mad.

Anyway- buy some antiseptic mouthwash and put it in your bathroom cupboard. At the first sign of sore throat or a cold, just gargle with it 2 or 3 times a day. You'll never even get the dreaded sore throat.

Ok i just tried this so it might work....

I had some cheesy potato soup and some sprite and my throat feels alot better. The sprite might burn your throat a little but only lasts for abot 3 seconds...

My remedy is to pck some roses, remove their petals, boil a pot of water on the stove, drop the petals in the water, and then you add the key ingrediant. You add one cup of coconut juice, and then you let it boil for about 5 to 10 minutes. You can either breath in the vapor or let it cool until it is warm and drink it. If you are going to drink it, drain the petals from, and add 2 tsp of sugar. I reccomend this to singers, people who give speeches, and people who don't know the meaning of zip your lips. Enjoy.

I have done this for years and it works amazingly ... Once you start to feel a sore throat come on, use colloidal silver from Wellness Resources. Mix about 1 tablespoon into 2 oz of water. Gargle a drinkful at a time for 15-30 seconds and then swallow. Repeat until mixture is gone. This helps to kill the bacteria in your throat. It works great to shorten the length of your sore throat!

God's Child

I came down with a minor sore throat and as the day progressed it got worse. I started sucking on Halls drops for the rest of the day. This gave temporary relief to the discomfort but wore off quickly. The next morning when I awoke, my throat had gotten much worse, I could barely swallow.

I began to read up on some home remedies and put a little of this and a bit of that together. The end result got rid of the sore throat and the next morning I awoke with no sore throat. I still did the remedy the following day, just to avoid it coming back.

First, I gargles with an antiseptic mouthwash for 60 seconds and repeated that. Second, I gargles with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water 50/50 for 60 seconds. Then I rinsed my mouth well with water only. Thirdly, I drank a cup of hot tea with lemon. (I was out of fresh I used a packet of lemon I had in the cabinet.) Finally, I ate a 1/2 cup of ice cream.

I did this that morning and did nothing the remainder of the day. I finished the day out eating and drinking as normal. The following morning I had no sore throat but I repeated these four steps to prevent a recurrence of the sore throat.

Good luck and God Bless!!! I hope you found this to be insightful and helpful :D

One thing that helps is citrus like if u suck on a lemon or lime( I recommend lemon) or u can eat it. Even though it burns its kind of like a sign that its working

when I have a sore throat I drink hot tea and if you don't like tea you can drink hot water and add a little sugar for taste
