I had Psoraisis so bad on 1 foot that I could barely walk, it would crack and bleed,I couldn't even wear shoes, I also had it on my hands that it hurt to pick anything up. I went to a doctor and dermatolosist for treatment, nothing worked. I was prescribed vitamins and steroid creams, lotions, still nothing worked. One day while I was doing a 4 day spring cleaning in my house with windex with amommonia,I noticed that my Psoraisis disappeared, so I thought what would happen if I applied the windex with a ammonia to my badly infected foot. It worked, The Psoraisis disappeared in 4 months. Here is what I did.
I saturate 1 square paper towel with windex ammonia. I applied this to the infected area twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. I would leave the saturated towel on for 10 minutes to half an hour during this time i would put a little pressure to mold the saturated paper towel to the infected area making sure my skin absorbed this ammonia, after 10 minutes to half hour remove the paper towel and let air dry, do not wash off the infected area, I kept applying this treatment for 4 month and in 4 months it was gone. No more pain or itching and no more sleepless nights. The once infected area is slightly pink due to scarring. The Psoraisis has been in check now for a couple of months. Every so often I have a small breakout, I just apply this treatment and it is gone in a couple of days. I do though apply this treatment twice a month to infected areas to keep the Psoraisis in check, it has worked for me so far.
Psoraisis is a fungus and ammonia kills fungus

I just started using steroid ointment prescribed by my doctor, it is called Dovobet, and I started to mix it with kerasal like it was suggested on this site. Once, I apply Dovobet+kerasal, I put a plastic wrap around the area to keep it moisturized even if I wear jacket or long sleeve sweater.
Do u guys think it is a good idea to put the plastic wrap around the affected area after I apply my ointment? I would appreciate a lot, If you guys could tell me if it is a good idea or not to put the plastic wrap.

Thanks

I have had psoriasis for the last 18 years or so. Last year on my trip to India I went to see an ayurvedic doctor. I was given Sora-Kare ointment (DR.Ambalkars). My skin is less itchy and looks healthier and the red patches are almost completely gone. You can get the cream online. I do not want to promote any websites, the cream can be bought online from India. I found the ointment extremely beneficial to my skin, I highly reccommend.

Well, I think I spoke to soon about my 'P'. It came back worse. It's like it gets immune to the stuff you use on it. So I am back to the drawing board. I am going to try to take some different advice and try to kick psoriasis butt from the inside out. Will see what happens and how it goes. (I am not very good at watching what I eat, but am really going to try hard.)

I'm 18 years and have had psoriasis for 3 years.
When my doctor couldn't give me a solution, I went to a Chinese herbal medicine doctor.
Her drinls are costly, $500+ for a batch. The first time I drank the nasty tea for a month and cut down on my sugar intake. Completely gone.
6 months later, the spot reappeared in the exact same areas. Arms, legs, knees. I went back and she gave me a different mixture of herbs. This batch did nothing for me.
I tried applying oil to the spots with ceran wrap. This only made the spots more red.
Finally. I think I've found a successful solution.
I've been eating vitamin d and omega 3 tablets with as much sunshine as possible.
4 weeks later, my spot are no longer inflamed and scaly. They've gone down alot! Please try these tablets. Also, I apply vaseline to the spots 2 times a daily. And when I shower I scrub the spots with a lufa, water and soap.
So bottom line?
* lots of sun/ vitamin d
* omega 3 tablets ( because I hate fish)
* moisturize with vaseline
* scrub spots in shower
Youll start seeing results within a month.

Please comment if youve tried my remedy

I just wanted to thank all of you who posted remedies that worked in treating psoriasis. (I have it on the bottom of my feet, knees, elbows and fingers.) After reading through the posts, I found that Vit.D seemed to be a common theme. I did some further research into it, and eventually decided to increase my Vit. D intake and add zinc also. I also didnt want to use a steroid, so I decided to try my own remedy. In addition to the Vit.D and zinc, every evening, I soak my hands ( because they are the worst) in epsome salt for 15 min to 1/2 hour. Then I use Cetaphil cream and rub on all psoriasis affected areas generously. It is working!! It has reduced alot! I am really grateful. Thank you all very much!!

i've had 'p' for 25 years. the waiver: everything i recommend or say is my own opinion and works for me you will have to do your own research and experimentation.

steroids, enbrel, humira, bleach!!!!!! all of these take care of the symptoms not the cause and do more long term damage than help . steroids thin your skin over time, enbrel and humira suppress your immune system (definition of immune system - network of cells, tissues and organs working together to protect the body from attacks by germs, bacteria and disease) does that sound like something you want to suppress. for the love of god go to clorox bleach website and look at the safety tab (wear gloves when cleaning, bleach will corrode metal parts!) i don’t use bleach products to clean much less take a bath.

there is no quick miracle cure for 'p'. these creams and babies butt aid (which contain lead and cadmium only control the symptoms not the cause. temporary relief. you put cream on your “p”, the spot goes away and you think it “works”. but new spots pop up somewhere else so did it really work. “p” is an internal disease. think of “p” like chicken pox. the virus causes your skin to break out. you can put cream on your skin but until you get rid of the virus inside your body. your skin will continue to breakout. fix the inside and you won’t have to use any creams. you can only control it through diet. dr. john paganos book is good reference material but for me is incomplete. the premise of this diet is anti-inflammatory and reduce toxin intake.

first thing is go 100% organic. there is too much crap (pesticides, hormones and unlisted ingredients) in processed foods which is hard on your immune system.

do a body cleanse (whole foods has some good ones)

do a food allergy test to eliminate trigger foods that are specific to your body.

eat an alkaline diet (raw fruits and vegetables should be at least 50% of your diet. i'm lazy so i make vegetables shakes. (rice milk and 3 or 4 vegetables and fish oil with vitamin d3 and coconut oil) if you need it sweeter add grapes or apples. the roughage is good for cleaning your intestines (small price to pay for clean skin).

blueberries seem especially helpful.

i eat chicken, turkey and fish (low mercury like tilapia, no tuna) no red meat too hard to digest.

i drink distilled water only. many states put fluoride in their water which wreaks havoc on your immune system. yes that includes tooth paste. i use fluoride free 'natures gate' no cavities since using it :) - google 'fluoride toxicity'. Chlorine is bad too. they kill the good bacteria in your digestive tract. I use a chlorine filter on my shower.

i drink fruit juice but water it down by 90%, too much sugar. for cereal i use rice milk or almond milk (soymilk is bad - contains estrogen and causes a lot of problems - google 'dangers of soy') (cow’s milk is too hard on the digestive system. if not organic it contains hormones and antibiotics) goat milk is a good alternative if you can handle the taste.

only whole grain bread and pastas (processed white flour products are highly inflammatory)(gluten free diet is beneficial)

the deodorant i use is 'thai' liquid form. i've tried every natural deodorant out there and this is the only one that works. it's awesome. most deodorants have propylene glycol or some form of aluminum junk in it. use natural shampoos, soaps and household cleaners. it reduces the amount of toxins getting in through your skin.

stuff to avoid:

night shades- tomatoes, tobacco, eggplant, paprika, all peppers, goji berries and white potatoes (sweet potatoes okay, is considered morning glory) night shades all contain toxins which overload our immune system. hard to eat out with this list :)

all refined sugars (highly inflammatory)
no white or cane sugar, no high fructose corn syrup. alternatives in moderation: stevia is the best, agave, coconut syrup, brown rice syrup or honey. needless to say all artificial sweeteners are never allowed (sucralose, aspartame, saccharine, sorbitol, xylitol and many more. chewing gums and diet products contain all these poisons). if it says diet don’t buy it. Sugar is the main cause of my “p” getting worse.

no shellfish, fried foods, yeast, alcohol, smoking, smoked foods, peanuts, and reduce stress.

your skin goes through a 28 day cycle. it normally takes 2 months to get my skin almost clear. what normally happens with me is my skin normally gets a little worse at first, probably from the toxins leaving the cells and going into the bloodstream. after a week there’s no more flare ups. after two weeks or so the red patches start to heal from the center out. you will have a red circle but the middle of it will heal first that’s how you know if you’re on track. the rest of the healing process is up to you depending how dedicated you are to avoiding toxins and sticking to the organic diet. it’s really simple - if i'm on the diet my skin gets better, off the diet, my skin gets worse. i have no one to blame but myself.

it takes time for the body to heal itself. so if you’re looking for a quick fix or not willing to make some changes for your health. you will continue getting frustrated and your “p” will continue to get worse. this diet works just give it time!!!!!!!!! put up or shut up!

Recently on a trip, I noticed my psoriasis reduced dramatically. When I got back home I showed my wife and asked what she thought the cause was.....within a day however, it was back in full force.

I began to back track and see what was different and low and behold I found it. At our house, we have big jugs of juice in our fridge that we all drink from. I drink on an average 5-10 glasses per day.

I realized that was the only thing missing from my trip. I stopped drinking the juice.....and within one week, the redness, flaking, cracking, and hurting in my fingers is 95% better. Almost completely gone in fact for the first time in several years.

I then began to research the juice and psoriasis relationship. It was the ASPARTAME!!!!!!!!! I have eliminated it completely and I am all (dare I say) but psoriasis free..... My fingers show little signs of anything. In fact, at a normal glance, you can't see a drop of psoriasis.

This may be an all too overlooked contributor to the horrible red appearance, painful cracking, and flare ups.

While trying ointments, medicine, ultraviolet therapy, and spending $$ with no success, I found the answer literally under my nose in the cup I was drinking from. I hope this works for you!!! DOWN WITH ASPARTAME!!!

My husband has scalp psoriasis which lead to a lot of hair loss.
What is now really helping us is massaging a castor oil diluted in sesame oil and washed off within 20 mins with Head and Shoulders shampoo (hairfall control variant. This has not only controlled the psoriasis but also improved his hair growth. He has thicker darker hair now. Please try it if u have scalp psoriasis. But one needs to do this everyday. All the best
