Milk Thistle is a great system cleanser that works wonders for my psoriasis. I take 600mg of silymarin an extract of Milk thistle morning and night and a month later it is almost gone!It works even better when paired with flax seed oil.
I have had psoriasis for the past 20years, and have tried countless treatments, both prescription and home remedies, with little to no relief. Lately, I have been eating a cereal that contains flax seeds every morning, and you wouldn't believe the difference! I won't claim that this is a wonder-remedy, because I still do have the plaques, but they have thinned out a lot, and are not nearly as red or painful as before.
You can find flax seeds in the health food section of many grocery stores, and can sprinkle them in yogurt or in your favorite cereal, or whatever other variation you can think of.
I have tried saturating my scalp with apple cider vinegar (which apparently helps to re-establish the balance of the PH) -- put it on with a towel on your head for about 1/2 hour to an hour, then wash it out with an herbal shampoo for dry scalp that has natural oils (jojoba, olive, etc) and no sodium laurel sulfate. At night, rub aloe vera and jojoba oil into the scalp and sleep in it overnight to let it soak in. I have been doing this for 4 days and it is a miracle -- itching and flakes are almost gone.
