I wrap two tight bandanas around my head, sometimes three. Then I found a better remedy: Use excessive amounts of brown sugar, on a spoon, combined with excessive amounts of salt to drink{like pickle brine, no lie!}. i tried it in desperation and it has worked every time since; and worked for my friends also.

I've been getting migraines since I was 12..im 31 now and have tried almost everything! September of 2012 was when I decided to give up cigarettes. My decision of quitting had nothing to do with my migraines. I never even thought about to be honest..until a couple weeks after I quit..I noticed that I didn't my get weekly migraine/s like usual..and ever since then, the number of migraines I get and the pain level, decreased dramatically!! I used to get em' 2-4 times a week! Ever since I quit..I might get a migraine once every 2 weeks or so..sometimes less than that! I know this is a hard task to achieve for most smokers, but getting my migraines down to once every 2 weeks or so, was totally worth it! Hope this helps someone :)

I'll get a bad migraine once or twice a week. I've tried everything and nothing helps! I read something in a magazine that suggested getting about 15 minutes of pure oxygen would greatly reduce the pain. I had nothing to lose by trying it, and sure enough..15-20 minutes later..pain was 90% gone! You can go into a hospital or medical center and just ask them..and its free! Hope this can help someone!

I am one of the rare males that suffer from migraines. I have had migraines 4-5 times a week since I was 14 I am 21 now. Normally a cup of black coffee and a hot towel have worked but recently nothing has helped, I am on prescription meds and still nothing. I will try anything at this point so if anyone has anything new to try let me know!

I have suffered from severe migraines my enire life 5-7 times a week. I tried all of the western medical remidies I could find and NONE of them worked. I went to an Indonesian holistic therapy doctor. He told me that putting peanut butter mixed with grated ginger on your temples can relieve migraines because the body absorbs the Arginine and Magnesium allowing your blood vessels to release. Leave this mixture on for three hours and it will relieve your migraines for a week! This is the only thing that has ever worked for me.

I am 29 years old with chronic debilitating migraines. I get them 6-10 times a week, and I'm on all the major drug types, Immatrex, relpax, etc. NOTHING seems to work when they get really bad. I was told that I should get botox injections, but truth be told im slightly terrified of the idea. I have had a migraine for the past week with no relief and my meds don't seem to want to work today. Anyone have thoughts on the botox injections?

I usually get migraines. Apply grated ginger/ ginger paste on your forehead and lie down for 15/20 mins. Works for me!

I have had regular outbreaks of migraines my whole life. Especially prior to menstruating. I haven't found a remedy for that other than trying peppermint oil. Ive been unsuccessful. But for all other migraines that last for days I find that a hair cut helps. I find that when my hair gets to be too long and starts thickening is when I start to get severe migraines. I think even the massaging of the scalp prior to the cut helps a great deal as well. I cant have my hair grow past my shoulders and I need it thinned significantly. I also use peppermint oil on my temples, jaw, and neck and drink peppermint tea for migraines unrelated to menstruation
