I had migranes for several years in my 30's and was taking very strong meds. One day my children noticed that I was getting a deep wrinkle between my eyebrows. Not wanting to have a permanent wrinkle there, I started rubbing it out every time I saw it. I found that as the wrinkle went away, the number of headaches I had did too. I have not had a migrane now for years - and no wrinkle either. I say vanity cured by migranes.
I have heard now that doctors are using BOTOX shots in that location (between the eyebrows) for migrane headache relief. I think you can do it yourself by just massaging that area several times a day.
Because of my experience, I believe that migranes are caused by tensing a certain head or neck muscle. If you can pinpoint that muscle and either massage it, or rest it in some way, that may solve migrane headaches.
I had regular severe migraines from age 23 to age 43 and they got much worse as I got older. The answer lay in fixing my TMJ problem. You can read all about TemperoMandibular Jaw dysfunction on the internet. There's heaps around about it. An oral surgeon arranged a dentist to create a mouth plate to correct the jaw alignment and it was an instant cure. Only wore the plate for about 6 months and never needed it again. It truly worked for me and it may work for you too. A
as a migraine sufferer i use a menthol ointment somewhat like vicks but i would imagine vicks would work as well.... i place it on my face and up my nose with a q-tip and then place a warm towel over my face...its so relaxing it puts me right to sleep
Take a hot bath with a warm wash cloth over your forehead,or take a short nap in a dark, quiet room with a cold compress on your forehead. This almost always helps rid me of them or at least make them more bearable.
In a dark room, I put in earplugs, lie on my back with ice in a rolled towel under my neck. I put a drop or two of rosemary oil on a washcloth and put in on my chest (so that it's not overwhelming)and hold a pillow or a rolled towel over JUST my eyes/forehead (for slight pressure). A pillow under the knees helps too.
TEAR OFF A PIECE OF BROWN PAPER BAG (THE HEAVY ONES THAT YOU GET AT THE GROCERY STORE NOT LUNCH BAG) SOAK IN WHITE VINEGAR AND SQUEEZE EXCESS AND PLACE ON FOREHEAD AND LAY IN DARK ROOM FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES.
take a baby aspirin daily. Or, drink tea with honey in it daily.
Put a wash cloth on your forehead. Apply an ice pack on top of the wash cloth. Then take an ace bandage and wrap it around your head tightly securing the ice pack. Lay down in a dark room and nap for 30 minutes. The ice pack and pressure will ease the pain. The nap will relax you and alleviate the migraine.
Take B-complex and dolomite or drink chamomile tea daily as a preventative measure.
