I had migranes for several years in my 30's and was taking very strong meds. One day my children noticed that I was getting a deep wrinkle between my eyebrows. Not wanting to have a permanent wrinkle there, I started rubbing it out every time I saw it. I found that as the wrinkle went away, the number of headaches I had did too. I have not had a migrane now for years - and no wrinkle either. I say vanity cured by migranes.

I have heard now that doctors are using BOTOX shots in that location (between the eyebrows) for migrane headache relief. I think you can do it yourself by just massaging that area several times a day.
Because of my experience, I believe that migranes are caused by tensing a certain head or neck muscle. If you can pinpoint that muscle and either massage it, or rest it in some way, that may solve migrane headaches.

Take a hot bath with a warm wash cloth over your forehead,or take a short nap in a dark, quiet room with a cold compress on your forehead. This almost always helps rid me of them or at least make them more bearable.

In a dark room, I put in earplugs, lie on my back with ice in a rolled towel under my neck. I put a drop or two of rosemary oil on a washcloth and put in on my chest (so that it's not overwhelming)and hold a pillow or a rolled towel over JUST my eyes/forehead (for slight pressure). A pillow under the knees helps too.

Put a wash cloth on your forehead. Apply an ice pack on top of the wash cloth. Then take an ace bandage and wrap it around your head tightly securing the ice pack. Lay down in a dark room and nap for 30 minutes. The ice pack and pressure will ease the pain. The nap will relax you and alleviate the migraine.
