I had nail fungus on both Great (big) toenails and the 2nd toe on rt foot. Refused to take oral Lamisil due to nasty side effects. Instead, I soaked both feet for about 5-10 minutes each night in 50:50 water:white vinegar solution for about 2 months. I know it killed the fungus because my doctor then took samples of my toenails and cultured them: fungus free!!

I have had nail fungus since my early 20s I am now 44, I have finally got near normal nails, I have tried everything, curanail Lamisil tablets and cream, vicks, Zeta (which cleared up quiet a lot of the infection, but seems to stop working) apple cider vinegar(also very good but smelling and messy, tea tree oil and finally what seems to work the best and I am going to keep applying morning and night forever is caneston thrush cream, its works a treat, a nail technician gave me the tip and it by far the best treatment I have used, I know caneston have brought out a new nail fungas treatment but its expensive and I cant find any reviews on it but the normal cream works just fine, hope this helps x

I have had a nail fungus for 50 years on my thumb. Last week I soaked my thumb in a little apple cider vinegar and within two 5 minute treatments it is gone. My manicurist is in shock.

I showed my doctor my fungal nail on big toe and asked for a remedy.
He gave may a specimin jar with specimin liquid, which I believe to be some form of copper oxychloride.

Put it on my nail once a day with a cotton bud. Presto, 6 months later the fungus is gone, replaced by a brand new nail.

My husband had deformed toenails that were an ugly shade of green, yellow and orange. They had become so thickened I could not clip them anymore. He went to a podiatrist who charged him $60 each time to trim. The only thing he could give him was a medication my husband could not take due to his other many health concerns. As time went on the fungus spread to his other toenails and those already afflicted grew thicker and more twisted.

I finally started researching online diligently. I decided to try Tea Tree oil, whether it worked or not and had a random memory in the back of my mind of a posting from Pinterest about Listerene. We are on a fixed income so my husband balked at the price of the Tea Tree oil. I thought I am going to just get the store brand of mouthwash like Listerene and try it, since it was only a $1.

The Pinterest post said to dilute in water. I thought, well, mouthwash has direct contact with skin and you can take meds sublingually, so why not put it directly on toes. I had him soak his feet and cleaned out the strange flakey growth under his nailbed and some that was growing on top. Also, I trimmed his nails as much as I could, which was very little. The color change was noticable the very next day and by the 3rd day the color of the nails looked normal. I was able to pull more of the flakey chunks out and then was actually able to trim his nails to a normal length. I did not soak his feet everyday. I did paint the toenails with a soaked q-tip dailey. I only soaked, trimmed and dug chunks once a week. I did not coat with mouthwash more than once a day. I know that mouthwash kills everything---good and bad, so I did not want to start another problem. Note: I did paint mouthwash between toes on skin, because some of the information I read attributed fungus to athlete's foot, so I wanted to make sure that cleared the normal area for one to have that problem. His skin around his toes improved in appearance, so it maybe worth a try for athlete's foot!

As my husbands toes were so gnarly and some defirmed down to the base of the toe, it took some time befor we could get the toe to grow out on some toes and others were almost immediate, now all of them have returned to normal now!!!

Rid of the Fungus!

I had bad fungus for over a decade and had several nails fall off and once had one removed. Each time, they grew back with fungus. Two months ago I started putting extra virgin coconut oil on the nail that had just fallen off again and as of today, there is NO fungus at all. I put the oil in a spray bottle and treated it twice a day.

Ok, so I had a very dear friend that was like my adopted grandfather, and there was almost never a day that went by where he did not say... 'honey will cure anything you got!'. Well, I had this horrible, gross, yellow toe nail fungus on my big toe that I was always covering up with nail polish so no one would see it, and one day I decided 'what could it hurt? so I applied fresh unpasturized honey to the nail and covered it with gauze and taped it up once in the morning and once at night, and NO LIE!!! within a WEEK the nail looked like it was going to shrivel up and die. Within 2 weeks, it broke off right where the yellow gross stuff had begun, and a beautiful, fresh new nail grew just behind it. I will never again doubt the words of an older, wiser, grandfatherly man!!! DOn't waste your money or your health on some prescription junk with more side effects then a car accident! Try this and you will be amazed!!

Hi everyone, wanted to share with you my experience with nail fungus. My right hand nail had fungus since last 10 years, it was all white and separated from the skin, only 10% was attached to the skin. I had oral medication but it had side effects on me so I left it. I applied many medicines but no use. Then I tried this simple method and my nail is 100% cured now. Yes! 100% cured after 10 years. Ok, it's very simple. I didn't cut all the defected part of my nail, I cut it normally as other nails but I keep its nail cutter seperated and don't use it on other nails. I've mixed apple cider vinegar and hydrogen peroxide 3% solution ( u can easily get it from medical store) 50-50 quantity in a dropper (that is normally used for eye drops medicine). First of all I put 2 drops of this solution on my nail and inside it to reach the skin(coz it was seperated from the skin) and let it soak. Then I put Tea Tree Oil 2 drops again on the nail and inside it and let it soak. After that in the end I put vaseline on my nail and inside it and rub it for a minute. I repeat this process 2 times a day (morning and night). In just 2 months my nail is 100% cured. And yes another important thing is to save ur nail from water as much as possible. I do wash my hands but I put gloves when I've to wash dishes or wash my hair. Hope it helps you coz I really had no hope to see my nail normal again but this remedy was a magic!!

I have to agree with the 50% Listerine, and 50% apple cider vinager remedy. I have used that mixture for 3 weeks now, and both nails are almost as thin as they were years ago when they were normal.
I have tried about half a dozen ointments, nail fungus liquids, etc... and none of them worked. Some of them even smelled like stinky socks (my wife hated those especially). However, the Listerine and apple cyder vinager has done in 3 weeks what the others didn't do in 12 months. And, it doesn't smell half bad.
I didn't believe it when I first read it on this site, but since the cost is a fraction of the cost of many of those so called cure ointments, I thought 'what the heck.'
Whoever came up with that remedy, thanks so much! Nails should be back to normal in a couple of more months!
