Thanks for this site! I tried the Vanilla extract, it did not work the first time, I tried again later and it reduced the pain by 50% in about 20 minutes. I took some NyQuil capsules and they took the pain to 0 in about 30 minutes. I found that swishing hydrogen peroxide for 1-2 minutes twice, swishing lukewarm water for 1-2 minutes, and then swishing with mouthwash for 1-2 minutes followed by another 1-2 minutes of swishing water helped longer-term. I took 2 ibuprofen and 2 extra strength tylenol after the swishing helped...I did this procedure every 6-8 hours. I have a high tolerance for pain, but this kind of pain, if unchecked takes me down. I take the IB/Ty only when needed because that stuff can cause liver damage (read the bottle).

My tooth is broken, more liked sheared past the gum, and what remains is obviously infected. I do not have health/dental insurance so I did purchase Fish Mox (amoxicillin), do a search for 'Fish Mox' on google and you'll come across stories of folks that tried it and lived...I haven't read any negative issues...but be damned sure you are not allergic to antibiotics or penicillin or amoxicillin. I bought the 250mg x 100 capsules from Amazon. I will let you know how it goes...if you don't hear from do not assume I am dead : ) I lived in rural Ohio and the local 'horse dentist' actually told me that the amoxicillin he was prescribing was exactly the same brand, type, and quality as the amoxicillin he prescribed for horses. Go figure. A survivalist site (survivalblog.com) has several users that have tried it (supposedly)...though I trust Jim and most of his posters provide very good and reliable information...you have to judge that yourself though. I am going to go to a dentist ASAP (which may be weeks or months), but I know that people have died from tooth infections even in the year 2010. DO NOT take your infection as an 'it'll go away' type issue, you may need a full course of antibiotics and *improve* your oral hygiene (mouthwash, floss, brush *every 6 hours*). See a dentist and/or doctor ASAP...even an ER (Emergency Room) if needed. Look up 'Blood infection' for symptoms if you think your tooth or gum is infected. This is no joke! Your life or death can depend on your decisions!

This site is good, something will work, hang in there and read! Good luck and God bless!
