Jess

I AM 21 YEARS OLD AND I HAD MY FIRST MIGRAINE WHEN I WAS ABOUT 13. I HAVE NOTICE THAT MY MIGRAINES USUALLY OCCURS THE DAY MY PERIOD COMES ON AND THE DAY IT GOES OFF (ALTHOUGH THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT TRIGGER MY MIGRAINES THAT ARE UNRELATED TO MY CYCLE, SUCH AS HEAT, STRESS, HUNGER, AND MOST OF ALL STRONG SMELLS LIKE BBQ, OR STRONG PERFUME ETC.) ME, IM MORE OF A NATURAL HEALER AND I HATE TAKING MEDICINE BUT AS WE ALL KNOW MIGRAINES ARE UNBEARABLE AND DEMANDS MEDICATION BUT THESE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT USUALLY WORK FOR ME
FOR NATURAL HEALER (WITH NO MEDICINE)- I USUALLY TAKE TWO COLD WASH CLOTHS AND LAY ONE ON MY FOREHEAD AND ONE ON MY NECK. I LAY ON MY BACK IN A DARK SOUND/STRESS FREE ROOM WITH MY EYES CLOSE TAKE ME A NAP AND BY THE TIME I WAKE UP ITS USUALLY GONE. IT ALSO HELPS IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE TO MASSAGE YOU OR BRUSH YOUR HAIR AS WELL.
AS FAR AS MEDICINE GOES- I USUALLY POP 2 EXCERDINE AND LAY DOWN FOR ABOUT 30MIN OR SO UNTIL IT GOES AWAY.

NO offense. I get headaches when I have my period but they are NOTHING like a migraine. Migraines are a far worse pain and make it impossible to function. Most times they last for days of unbearable pain if not treated before they start. A PMS headache is easily fixed with sleep and excedrine or midol. Neither of those drugs fix a migraine. The Emergency room has to treat mine when they are bad. And they use benydryl, phenergan, and a pain killer along with IV fluids.
