Okay, so used to have really bad nasal congestion. Ever since my childhood i could only remember being able to breath through one nostril, the other completely blocked, or both were completely blocked. So it got really bad when i was around 11 and i consulted a nose specialist. He said i had minor adenoids and that an operation was really unnecessary. so that was when i got hooked on nasal sprays and such which really only made it much worse because of rebound congestion.
NOW, for the solution:
Someone told my mum about this so i tried it.
You need:
1. A cup of warm water (not a level or two below burning, so you can inhale it)
2. Salt
3. Any ordinary eating spoon
4. A glass
Steps:
1. Add a few pinches of salt to the warm water (you can adjust later on)
2. Stir with a spoon until it's dissolved
3. Put the spoon in the water and raise it up to one of your nostrils(close the other nostril). You will now breathe in the water, so just make sure it isn't too hot. The water should come out of your mouth and you spit it out. (i do this over a sink) If it tastes too salty, just empty the glass and refill and add less salt.
4. Repeat this step until the glass is about half full. You'll a lot of mucus and phlegm comes out, that's fine just keep blowing and what not in the middle of this exercise.
5. Repeat the exercise with the other nostril now until the glass is empty.
And you're done.
Do this once in the morning after you wake up and once in the night before sleep. You'll get immediate long lasting relief. I do it for 2-5weeks and then i have a cleared nose for at least 2+ years, however it is good to make a habit of this exercise for a completely cleared nose. I'm now doing this exercise for the 2nd time in my life after 3 years and it's working great.
I am 15 from Australia, Victoria.
I really hoped that i made myself as clear as possible because this exercise is just so effective, and i understand how frustrating nasal congestion can be because it can turn a good day into a disaster.
Thank you :)

It burns so bad that I could not snort a whole half a cup in each nostril. Maybe it takes practice. Mucus is coming up, but I am still stuffy.

Ahhh... Relief!

Wow! This REALLY worked for me... it was a bit uncomfortable to do it - and I had to adjust it for less salt, more water and it was more tolerable. I also put into the liquid a small amount of Apple Cider Vinegar as suggestion in one of the other posts...
Thank you!!!

I just tryed this, worked well. You only need a small amount of salt, and a pinch of vinegar. Not so much of either that it burns. Worked well! It opened up my sinuses.

When i first herd of this I was thinking you gota be crazy to be snorting water. But it got to the point where I could not breath through my nose and I would wake up with a soar throat and cotton mouth. So I decided to try the boil water and breath it in...that worked for a bit but it kept coming back so i decided to try this and at first i didn't like it I didn't think that it worked. But after a while it worked and it worked great thanks for the advise

Acually, my doctor recommended this to me. She said 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp baking soda. She said they did a test to this to antibiotics and they had equal results. She also said boiling the water is best but tap water is ok. I do it all the time. But I put the water in my hand to snort it. They also have special tea pot thingys for this too. good luck!! :)

This works really well. I've only tried it once but so far my sinuses are completely clear. At first it might burn a little bit like getting water up your nose while swimming, but you'll get used to it and eventually doesn't hurt. Only half a coffee cup worked for both nostrils

WOW, this really worked. Took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but it worked.

OMG! Ive been congested for the past 2months but recently its gotten worst. Ive never had any nasal problems so I asked around and got various ailments from allergies, to infections. In the end I figured I better go see an ENT but I searched this up first and after two months of congestion I can say after doing this for 2 days my nose is COMPLETELY cleared. My word. Thank you so much. And I didnt do anything fancy a pinch of salt, a teacup and warm tap water was all it took.

I FEEL AMAZING! I was in the middle of doing this and then I remembered the netti Pot, but since I dont have one of those I found a turkey baster (anthing you can easily suck liquid up with)and tilted my head all the way to the side and began to slowly pour the luke-warm mixter through my nostril- and what do you know! it worked like a charm! I havent been able to breathe through my sinus's in days, but now everything is crystal clear!
