Ginger, In Indiana

I had tried everything suggested, by everybody it seemed hopeless that my 5 month old would ever poop. She was sooo constipated she screamed when she tried to have a bowl movement and nothing would come out. So last resort before we headed to the doctor, I put Vaseline on the end of a Q-Tip and put it in her rectum and swirled it around for a couple seconds and SHAZAM out came 4 days worth of poop. I think I was more relived than her, she just smiled:)

im gonna try this-have 2 mo old grandbaby-my son says he hasnt pooped in 5 days-baby's doctor says this is normal-that nature will work itself out-not for 5 days-let's see if this will work-we're worried about baby

placed earlier post about my grandbaby-ok-i tried this-WORKS LIKE A CHARM!!!! just put a little vaseline on the tip of q tip,not alot, insert just the tip and turn one full circle-and yes, stand back. within 30 seconds, we had poopie faces going on :) he drank 3oz of formula after 2nd butt change, burped and slept comfortably for once.

Wow, this really works. The original post said 'and shazaam, there came 4 days worth of poop.' Well I had no idea that it would work that fast. My sister and I had to do this to my nephew as a last resort. He had not gone poop in 5 days. We used olive oil on a q-tip and it worked like a charm. Within 10 seconds he was pooping. He looks and feels so much better. Thanks a ton! Whew. Looks like all 3 of us will finally get some sleep tonight! :)

K i tried this. My 6 mo old daughter has been constipted for almost 3 weeks. I talked to her pediatrician and she told me to give her prunes and prune juice. Problem was i breast feed and she refused to take any liquid coming frm anything other than my breasts. So i tried the prunes and other fruits and nothing. So i went back and they told me to give her glycerin suppositories so i did and they would just get stuck in the first ball of poop and didnt let the rest of it come out. She would struggle so much to go but nothing would come out and if it did it would be a hard ball that would tear her everytime. So I tried this remedy as a last resort and it actually work. But instead of using vasaline or oil I used KY Jelly. Its safe and I knew that it was safe. They use it all the time to check babies temps. And to the person who posted about the inappropriatness of this, please. It is to help a helpless infant who is in pain. I really feel sorry for your child(ren). Honestly how do u help them when they are in pain. Please...... For all others MOMS and DADS try this it works.

My one month old grandson was suffering so bad of constipation, he screamed with pain. After trying the kayro syrup several times with no relief, I tried the Q-tip and vaseline and it worked immediately! He was a very happy baby afterwards and so was Nana:)!

yes, i agree, my baby has this problem, and you would do anything to free your baby from any pain. i also thought that was a dumb comment about father helping his baby like this being wrong. goes to show where this person's mind is

This worked for us! We recently changed from 100% breast milk to formula. Don't go too far into the rectum or you may hurt the baby. We swirled around until we heard gas to start coming out and then pushed down on the q-tip (do not go downward further into the rectum). It worked like a charm. Thank you for this tip. We always prefer natural remedies over meds.

This tip was great!! Who would have thought that something so simple could solve such quick relief!! And as for the sick-o with the mind in the gutter-SHAME ON YOU. Any parent who is trying to give their baby relief shouldn't be worried about such nonsense

i have a 2 weeks old baby girl, and she has been constipated for a little over 24 hrs, she is usally so happy and sleeps well for us but for the past 2 days she had been cranky and crying more than normal. i tried this trick and it worked so quickly!

I want to thank you so much. My grandbaby has been crying every night and I just could not take it anymore. And I'm quite sure she could not either. My daughter put vasaline on a Q-tip just as you instructed and it worked instantly. I tip my hat off to mother's who help one another.
