Hi, I know how painful a toothache can be, especially at night, so I thought I'd share some things that have helped me. I hope these work for you as well!

1) Clove Oil - I know it's a popular one, but it really DOES work wonders! Soak a cottom ball in some clove oil and hold it directly onto the tooth thats aching for a few minutes, and it will almost instantly. Relief will last for hours.

2) Ice Pack - Holding an ice pack against the cheek on the same side of the toothache really helps to numb the pain. It also reduces swelling/the risk of swelling caused by infections.

3) Salt Water - Swish some warm salt water around your mouth, and hold over the tooth that aches for as long as you can. Spit and repeat 3 or 4 times. Doesn't get rid of pain totally, but it DOES numb it enough for you to get a few hours sleep.

4) Tea Bags - Grab a tea bag, place it in a cup of water and then put in the microwave for 1 minute. Remove the tea bag from the cup, and place directly onto painful tooth. Keep it in place for 15-20 minutes, and when you remove it, the pain is gone.

5) Onion - Chewing on a piece of raw onion helped relieve my pain for a short time, but it was definitely the lest effective remedy for me.

6) Painkillers - Another obvious one, but taking painkillers can relieve toothache for up to a day, if the right doseage is taken. Personally, I take 2 Ibuprofen and 2 Asprin at once, but I have a high tolerance to painkillers.

I hope some of these work for you, and believe me, I feel your pain! You're not alone!!! ;-)
