I have suffered from RLS for 10 years. I have always self medicated. RLS was a big challenge for me but I have found something that really works for me. I squat next to my bed (keeping your heels off the ground) for about 5 to 10 minutes. Your legs will feel very tired like they have fallen asleep on you. But the RLS goes away long enough to go to sleep. I know this method sound crazy but give it a try.

I know it did sound crazy at first but I was willing to give it a try. I squated next to my bed and kept the heals of my feet off the ground for 5 to 10 minutes. It works. thanks to who every came up with this idea. streching those muscles before bedtime does the trick.


doesn't sound funny to me. I do leg & calf stretches. sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. But I agree that stretching the leg muscles is a big part of reducing or ridding the symptoms.


Stretching my hamstrings and calf muscles is the only thing I have found to relieve my symptoms. However, it only does so long enough for me to fall asleep. I am certain the symptoms come back not long after as I still rarely get a good nights sleep.
I know that my symptoms correlate with alcohol and caffeine use and also stress.
