I read the BANANA concept elsewhere too. The article said the fruit is high in tryptophan and Vitamins B6 & B12. Tryptophan converts to serotonin and helps you relax, while the B6 regulates blood glucose levels which can also affect your mood (such as PMS). Not sure of B12's benefit, but it supposed to help folks who are experiencing nicotine withdrawal. Also, if you are taking Ibuprofen for cramps, bananas will prevent constipation brought on by the drug (and don't take Ibuprofen on an empty stomach - it will eat holes in your stomach won't feel that happening, but you may experience complications as you age).
