Take a couple TUMS before bedtime to help prevent leg cramps. I had severe leg cramps and this helped. I also learned to stretch with my toes pointing inwards not out.

I laughed when I read how you stretched because the SAME thing happened to me with my first pregnancy. It only took one charlie horse for me to remember to pull my feet up instead of pointing them to stretch.
