Tea bag!!! Really did help. I have been in pain for 5 days now. I have tried Ibuprofen, Orajel, Anbesol, Hydrocodone, Vanilla Extract, Mouthwash, Warm compresses, and placing this tea bag between my cheek and tooth has relieved my pain from a 10 to a 1. It's easy too. I ran out of Lipton but i had Jasmine tea bags and it seemes to be working great, but it is only temporary. I am still surfing the web for the best solution aside from going to the Dentist which is what I should have done already but with 4 growing children I have to wait. Try it though. I have had this tea bag in my mouth for an hour now and it is still working.

Does this tea bag trick pop the abscess or just take away from some of the pain?

Day three of an abcsess... Had to phone dentist for the amoxocillin and pain relievers... Antibiotics take two days to be effective. So i am still thinking two more days of this. Then i read that sometimes the antibiotics dont work. Was going to try pop. Ouch the pain. Almost bed time, no grocery stores open in this little town so i go to tim hortons. Order a large tea and two extra tea bags. It works!!! Pain and that stretched dore feeling where the big puss bubble was is gone... I am actually looking forward to sleep. Going to use tea bags and hope the abscess drains soon. Who would have thought?

I just did this for my son who has a severe abscess. I am hoping it works. The penicillin, heating pad, pain meds are barely working. I am praying!!!!!!

I cannot get over how this worked so fast and so wonderfully!! I happen on this site last night and read all the comments before getting out of bed to give it a try as I was having not bad pain but mild pain and swelling. I need major dental work, probably dentures and from time to time different areas will become painful and swollen. I have always used just Motrin or Tylenol but it wasn't working last night. As I said, I happened onto this site and after reading decided at 2am to get up and give it a try. Within minutes the pain stopped and even the tightness and swelling seemed to have lessened. I was then able to sleep soundly the rest of the night and woke up pain free and feeling much better. I still feel there's an abscess or something so I will keep applying the tea bags, which are just cheapo teabags from Dollar Tree mind you, and this will be my go-to for any oral pain!! Thank u to all for the informative posts that got me to try this!!

Had an abscess tooth about a month ago with a very deep hole where a filling came out, so I had the tooth pulled. Everything healed up fine over the next 3 weeks or so. Well, after that I noticed another small bubble come up on my gums. Issue was there was no tooth there. The small bump ended up popping when I brushed so the dentist said to monitor. It came back and popped again(this continued for 3 days) after that and all the pus that drained out, nothing came up for 4 days. Well, the bump is back. It's drained a couple times and it doesn't hurt at all. Dentist thinks there could be a gum infection rather than an abscess so going back next week. It doesn't seem to be completely draining like it did last week, and reforms rather quickly with a small white bubble. I'm hoping that the teabag works to help draw out some more of the infection to keep things under control until my appointment and I get on some antibiotics to hopefully wipe this thing out. Remember EVERYONE, the tea bag is not a cure. It may relieve symptoms but the infection is still there. DO NOT put off treatment. If a root canal is too expensive, have the tooth pulled. It can quickly spread to your other teeth, into your jaw, and in worst cases it can be fatal as it travels to your brain. I know money is an issue for most, it was my issue, but call around. I promise you will find a dentist that will help you. It's not worth waiting.

Wow Amazing black tea bag! I tried oil pulling, salt water rinses, flossing, extra long brushing, change of diet to plant based, alkaline fluids, lemon water, antiseptic mouthwashes, garlic around gums, garlic in my food, garlic in my drinks. Finally I tried a black tea bag (100 for $2 at normal store) Dropped in boiled water for 10 minutes, saved water to make ice tea, then cooled off tea bag and placed between abscessed tooth/gum and cheek. I used a mouth guard to stop grinding and it seemed to help keep tea bag in mouth while sleeping. Had a nightmare that tea bag would make things worse. In the morning, the inflammation swelling decreased and the pimple size gum abscess disappeared to a slight bump. Really Amazing or maybe some other things that I did to fight off infection.

pure relief

My gums were so sore and felt raw. I took a black tea bag, got it nice and warm, I then kept putting on the sides of my mouth and bit down on the front of my mouth. And the pain vanished in about 30 min. I'll never will forget this night, job well done, can't believe this.Dentist won't be seeing me. Now let me get ready to watch Megan & Harry Soon!
