My little one used to get yeast diaper rashes. I would open a capsule of probiotics and mix it in a jar with desitin or lard if you don't have desitin, and colloidal oatmeal if possible. Wash the bum with a little bit of baking soda mixed with warm water, then slather on the probiotic mixture. The bacteria clears up the yeast infection. This cleared up the most stubborn painful rash he ever had in a matter of hours. If the rash is shiny and doesn't respond to desitin alone, you need bacteria. Even plain cold yogurt will give the little one relief. I promise it works.
