Down and depressed

I just got diagnosed with Genital Herpes yesterday. One of the most emotional days of my life. I'm 27 weeks pregnant which makes everything even worse. I cried for a whole day. I've just been diagnosed by site but a swab has been sent of to the lab. It's horrible the pain is horrid. The left side of my labia is so swollen it looks like I have an extra vagina lip. My clitoris is completely swollen up, and I have some blisters. I also suffer from recurring yeast infections due to pregnancy so it's a pretty rubbish time. I'm all about natural but have neglected myself for a few months due to being in and out of hospital. Salt baths are amazing to soothe your genitals (I didn't want to get out of mine), if you put oats in a sock and put it over the tap and run a bath it will sooth you so much, slather yourself in talcum powder every few hours or less it will help dry the buggers out, tea tree oil baths, eating properly, my vagina is so sore and swollen on my left side I can't wear underwear, let your genitals breath make the area as cool as possible, apply ice to reduce swelling but not directly. I hope this helps. I'm only 18 and this diagnosis has been hard on my depression but my partner is so caring. It's odd because neither of us have any symptoms and we haven't had sex in a long time and when I masturbated the day after my symptoms came on all suddenly. I think I've had the infection for a while and never known, I was getting admitted to hospital for shortness of breath, chest pain, weakness and flu like symptoms. I had loads of blood tests to check for infections (which all odly came back negative) this virus works in weird ways and now I am upset that I won't be able to naturally deliver my baby. Has anyone had an experience similar to mine?

That does sound very horrid. I also was in that situation but " I was not pregnant" I can't imagine the discomfort my heart goes out to you.

I have had it for 25 years

Go buy some Bactine spray! Spray it anytime you start feeling an odd feeling down there. Since say it's a tingle feeling, I'd say more burning. Spray as often as needed till blisters to away if you have them already until they are gone /healed. If you dont have blisters yet once or twice a day will do, until you have no symptoms of a potential outbreak. Works 100\\% of the time for me and I have unfortunately had to use this technique lots, but it works!

I was diagnosed with it while I was pregnant as well. I cried for days. I was devasted and looking up info on it just made it worse. I don't know how long I have had it for. I don't know if my partner has it or if he was the one who transferred it to me. I had one outbreak while pregnant. That's how I found out I had the virus. I started taking and antiviral and took it everyday twice a day to make sure I wasn't able to get an outbreak. I debated whether I wanted to have my daughter natural or c- section. I was terrified. Stress wasn't helping my situation. I ended up having her natural and she is a beautiful healthy 2 month old baby girl. I try not to think about me having the virus because of my depression. I focus more on my daughter and thank God she was born fine. Talk to your doctor and see what options you have and what is safest for you and your baby. Know you are not alone.

I really feel for you. I'm so sorry you've contracted this gdamn virus. But if you contracted it very early in pregnancy or prior to pregnancy you should be able to deliver vaginally. I contracted HSV2 in 2013 after I had a hysterectomy...a major surgery. My immune system was terrible afterwards. I was so sick and my body was exhausted. Along with a supressed immune system which isn't uncommon after major surgery, I also had major internal healing going on with lots of sutures and whatnot. Therefore, even more susceptible to infection of all kinds whether viral or bacteria as there's a clear path right into my bloodstream through the unhealed internal vaginal wounds. I was only 36 when I had the surgery but already had 4 children (single mom though). The hysterectomy set off a pretty severe manic episode (I am bipolar II) which in turn causes terribly impulsive behavior, often very risky behavior. I had unprotected sex with several partners, one a bisexual man which is about as risky as it gets, all within weeks of each other AND before I was fully healed and healthy. I couldn't wait even 6 weeks to have sex. Unbelievable! I'm so angry at myself for being so sick and so stupid. And then when I met my last boyfriend, a nice southern gentlemen I unbeknownst to me, gave it to him! He had his 1st breakout 2 weeks or less after mine. When I met him I had not yet found out I was positive. I was mortified and to this day, the guilt and shame is just awful. Wait, this is a remedy forum, I'm sorry for going on. I'm unsure what keeps the breakouts surpressed but I DO know what triggers them. Protein shakes(or foods) high in l-arginine! The shakes caused my ex to constantly breakout. As soon as he stopped or switched to a different formula, they stopped. For me I also know that peas, high quality dark chocolate, and nuts can trigger mine. Thankfully both my ex and I only get 2-3 tiny blisters in the same area with minimal discomfort and my breakouts don't last long unless something in my diet is triggering them. I can go 6 months or more without a breakout if I stay away from l-arginine. Also, any trauma down there can set me off. Like, rougher sex or just friction from clothing especially clothes that are synthetic and don't breathe. So my advice, eat and/or supplement with powerful natural antivirals& immune boosters (oil of oregano, lysine, garlic, apple cidar vinegar, raw unfiltered honey), keep those bits clean and dry and coddled by soft breathable fabrics, clean up your diet by learning your triggers and staying far away from them! Good luck.

Hang in there. You can deliver your baby vaginally if you don’t have an outbreak if you do then you’ll have a C-section. I’ve done both and both have benefits. Try to take baths a lot and be less stressed as this will bring in an outbreak. Ask your Dr if you can take the vitamins L-lysine while your pregnant as that will help keep they Herpes controlled. It’s for skin health. Also believe it or not I put liquid bandage on it and it heals extremely fast. If I I get it early it doesn’t even break out. Just cover everything but infected area. It burns bad for 20 seconds. But coats it and protects it from spreading. I even put a second coat. I wouldn’t do it on your clitorous though.

You can still deliver natural as long as you dont have an outbreak. My cousin has hsv2 and had a natural birth
