The poultice works. Just mix in 2 table spoon turmeric power, 2 table spoon baking power, 2 table spoon coconut oil, and its optional but highly recommended 10-15 drops of tea tree oil.

Just mix the paste and get ready to take a hot sitz bath. After half an hour just tap dry the affected area and apply the paste.

Believe me it stings a lot. But bear the pain which lasts for 15-20 mins.

Post application just put some cotton gauze roll in place so that the poultice does the Magic.

In say 24 hours the abscess pops up and everything drains.

Wonderful home remedy.

Take care not to touch the poultice with hand otherwise you might just end up getting it infected.

I did the poultice and within 24 hrs it had burst...not I have a hole and it keeps draining what seems like blood, mixed with pus. Has anyone else experienced this drainage and if so how long should I expect it to continue draining for?

I believe I have an anal abcess that has worked through to my inner butt cheek near the vagina. It went down ans came back with more pressure & terrible pain. The doctor told me to come back in if it still bothered me. It was gone after a surgery not related to this problem and being on antibiotics. Now it was so full it formed a bubble in an area that felt like thinner skin from all the pressure that wouldn't go down when I pushed on it. I sat on the toilet today and noticed that the area was leaking. I put minor pressure on it and clear-pinkish fluid came out. There was no smell at all. Can I try this paste on the area still eventhough it formed a small opening? Not too much is coming out, but the pain is still there.

I have all these ingedients in the house. I'm in my 30's and am a healthy person otherwise.

I have a similar issue as you Theconcernedwomen I discovered I have an anal abscess. I've never had anything like this but admit I am alarmed at all that I've read about it. Thank goodness I stumbled across this website. Grateful for the person who started it and all the contributors to it. I felt a bit itchy on Saturday night and felt a lump very early on Sunday. By Sunday evening I felt pain so severe I could barely sit fully, but soon discovered if I didn't cough or sneeze and sat on a cushy chair, I was alright. On Monday, the abscess started leaking and quite a bit of blood came out and also puss. Today is Tuesday and while the pain has subsided some, it is still leaking, I still feel a lump and the smell is pretty bad. I am going to try the poultice remedy tonight. But I wonder if anyone else has tried it after leaking has begun. And secondly, how to know for sure that it is clean and has all ruptured out. I would be grateful for any feedback.

I've had 3 perineal abcesses over the last 9 years (I'm 40). About two weeks ago I started to get some symptoms and went to the urologist and infectious disease people. Both put me on crazy antibiotics, one was an Iv and the other 3xs per day and very strong. After the antibiotic regiment things were good, but only for about 5 days. I tried this mix just as detailed for 3 nights. After the first night not too much happened, 2nd night I notice the abcess getting closer to the surface, on the 3rd night (after how I really figured how to do it well with a very thick paste and a wife's maxipad) after two hot baths and an application, it popped. Huge thanks.

To jay

It took almost 2 years for the abscess fistula to cure

Tried everything on the fistual that u can find on the net. In the end sitz baths and cleaning with soap and water after each #2 cured it when it was ready. Sprnd least amount of time possible on toilet and no forcing. Coconut oil at night before bed. During day keep as dry as possible

If you feel it sweled and liquid i always popped it.literally daily for a long time.
