I have a subaceous cyst on my shoulder and for those saying have it removed surgically and it wont come back - you re so very wrong! It is a very painful proceedure involving rolled up bandage being packed into the opened wound and daily trips to your doctor. I have had mine surgically removed twice. The secind time was 4 hours under a hot plastic sheet and the core sent for testing. And it has flared up again. I refuse to go through that a third time so I am trying home remedies. Google them - there are many good ones that may or may not work. But I do know they cant be removed permanently.

AND I THOUGHT I AM ONLY ONE :) I DRIED MINE UP WITH SOMETHING YOU PUT ON WARTS AND NOW IT IS DRIED AND NOT PULSING ALL THE TIME. IT HELPED TO PUT SODIUM BICARBONATE ON AND THAT FELT LIKE IT WAS TAKING IT AWAY BUT I NEED TO REMOVE HARD SKIN FROM MY SCALP AND I CAN NOT SEE SO I JUST DIG WITH MY NAILS AND IT BECOMES INFLAMED AGAIN

Lee, Sorry you had such a bad experience with having your cyst removed. I have had several large cysts surgically removed. A regular MD is not a good person to go to for this procedure. A highly qualified dermatologist can remove the cyst, all of it's walls and it will not return. (and very tiny scar) There is no pain and you go home stitched up. You only return to have the stitches removed. The procedure you had sounds like a horrible hack job. Please find the proper Doctor to have have your next cyst removed.

once it's removed the only way to keep it from real spawning is to stop eating like shit. A lot if American foods have toxins in them for say preservation bit some of us are intolerant of the toxins and develop cyst and other ailments from unclean food.

Hi Everyone,

I too am a sufferer of sebaceous cysts and I had one removed at my GP surgery which left a horrible scar AND a new cyst has returned underneath. Also not wanting to repeat that experience again, I too turned to natural remedies. I found this thread by googling for a way to drain the cysts but I wanted to share a treatment I am using for my cysts that takes away the tenderness and ready to be drained! I currently have one behind my ear which is very uncomfortable so I started to use a home remedy of Aloe Gelly and Neem oil. I started to use Neem oil to treat my daughters verrucas as the OTC treatments are very harsh on their skin. With a month of treatments (Topical treatments before bedtime) the verrucas fell off! A small crater was left but one more treatment healed that right up! I used 3 drops of Neem oil, mixed with approx 2 tablespoons of Aloe Gelly.

I just want to share my personal experience with sebaceous cysts and how I have turned the tide. I dropped gluten. I was getting cysts generally in the summer and mostly in the groin, starting about 5 years ago. The frequency increased to about 1 in 5, without a cyst. Most would develop overnight. I had pinched and worked most of them out, cleaning thoroughly with alcohol and peroxide. Last year I got one and it grew fast, hot, and painful. It had to be lanced, packed and cleaned every 2-3 days. I figured something in my diet had to be triggering these things, and it turned out that gluten was the problem. When I abstain to the degree of having no more than the equivalent of 1 slice of bread per week, I grow no cysts. Try it for a month and if it doesn't work for you, your trigger may be different, but if it clears up, you'll be a sceptic no more!

Above post should say "1 in 5 weeks without".

I was lucky enough to get one on my face. On my chin just under my lip. At first I thought it was a pimple as it erupted like one with a head. But when I put pressure on the sides I could see like a sack inside the big hole. Went to the plastic surgeon and he did a punch biopsy and got most of it out. A few stitches and done. However it left behind a hard lump that I could only feel if I touched it either side (fingers outside tongue inside). The Dr suggested getting at it from the inside of my lip cos he was worried about leaving a scar. Wor st decision ever! I didn't want to do it but he was adamant it would work. So in he went and it was so much worse. After this procedure I had a larger lump on the inside. Yes you couldnt see it from the outsidea but the amount of pain it caused on the inside was not worth it. It rubs on my teeth so smiling yawning eating all cause me significant discomfort. Not to mention the fact that that side of my lip is still months later completely numb. And the amount of sickness and spots o got from the awful antibiotics he put me on!

Back I go again and ask him to do the original procedure again as I was hopine for it to go back the way it was. He pulled out like a little worm and stitched me up. I go back for my check up and it is still there still large on the inside. He says he can't get to it from the outside and cuts me open on the inside again. I'm still no better after 4 surgeries. It's still there still has a heartbeat of its own and he was so worried about leaving me with a scar but I have a depression like a dimple next to my lip. How this is better I don't know stands out like dogs balls even with make up. Now he says he can't get to it because he thinks it has surrounded itself with scar tissue! So what do I do? Live with it? It's a nightmare!
