coconut oil cured me!!! I went to the store and bought regular coconut oil like the kind you can cook with and all of that and came home and inserted a coconut oil Tampon for 2 hours and then right after I showered , I repeated for maybe 3 or 4 days and the smell was gone!! I went to my gynecologist and got tested and I do not have it anymore.. I can honestly say coconut oil cured me. flagyl (bacteria medicine) did not work for me. make sure after you take out your coconut oil tampon that you either take a shower or rinse the area!! hope it works for you.

Thanks for the advice! I got Bv from taking an antibiotic for my uti and have been trying to get rid of it for the past 2-3 weeks. So far I've tried ultimate flora women's probiotic pills and despite the great reviews I still have smelly discharge. I've been trying cranberry pills and they don't help either. Last night I even tried inserting a raw garlic clove in my vagina overnight and it got rid of some of the discharge but there's still a bad smell. I'll see how the coconut oil goes thanks for the advice

I have just changed my contraceptive pill and it's brought bv on again for me..I did the coconut oil on a tampon for a couple of hours lastnight then took it out and inserted 2 probiotic capsules before I went to sleep and this morning I've noticed that awful burning itching feeling has gone away! And discharge also isn't as fishy smelling!! I'm going to continue to do this over the next few days. I totally feel for all us women that deal with this awful infection! I'm a hairdresser and so paranoid that when I have it I hope my clients can't smell me! It makes me feel dirty and depressed. My poor finance is so patient and understanding. He makes jokes that I have a 'stink puss' again.. Trying to see the lighter and funny side of it but it can be hard!! So glad I found this site thankyou ladies! Xx

Im 14 and i just noticed symtoms. I read through any site that i possibly could and did research daily to see what was wrong with me. When i was looking for what the causes were it said a change in sexual partners or multiple sexual partners. I am 14 and i have not had sex and dont plan on it till i know im ready and im thinking this possibly is not why i have this.. i have tried everything and nothing seems to work.. i tried sitting in a hot bowl or water with sea salt and it didnt seem to work.. everything that all you ladies have posted i tried. I finally told my mom but she said just to wash my vagina good and make sure its clean. I did that but that only seem like it made it worse and also from my findings it said not to wash bc the soaps could be a factor of why i have this. Also i feel embarrassed and i dont want to go to the doctor.. i dont want someone else hands in me!! I just dont know what to do.

Aww sweets you need to see a doctor.. They'll take some swabs and let you know what it is. It'll most likely be either bv or thrush. As a woman you're going to have a lifetime of having smears and swabs. Bv is something you can get whether you've had sex or not.. Virgins can get it too. It's to do with an imbalance in the vagina. It is not an std. Don't put soap anywhere near your lady bits! Have you tried coconut oil on a tampon for a few hours?

I would just like to add that the tampon remedy sounds promising, But if you are sexually active the tampon remedy is going to slowly but surely dry u out down there. Not something that sould be down daily
