Okay so I recently went to the gyno and had a full std panel. To my surprise it came back positive for hsv 1 and hsv 2. Its been about a month since I got that news and I guess I'm having my primary outbreak currently(I'm going on day 3) and this is seriously the most painful thing I've ever felt. I started my valtrex yesterday. I think the worst thing is when I have to pee it is excruciating. I also have been having to pee quite frequently so was wondering if that was normal. I've been drinking normal amounts of fluids. I have found that aloe Vera gel with lidocaine relieves it a good bit. Also warm Epsom salt baths as well. I really only don't hurt when I'm sitting down or laying down, and with my work I stand all day. Does anyone know of anything to make it not so painful to pee? I'm seriously in tears every time I go. I've also started taking a daily combination of vitamins to hopefully help my immune system. I really hope after this initial OB that it won't be this bad because this is ridiculous.

I am also going through my first OB. I am finally able to use the restroom without being is pain. I cried a few times. Since I am at work a lot I found out that bringing a cup filled with water in the bathroom with me and pour it where my OB was while I used the restroom helped ease the pain a little.

Sorry to hear you're going through your first one too. I'll give the water in a cup a try. I've also been putting on gloves when I go so that I can cover the blisters. It's kinda aggravating to do it that way, but it hasn't been hurting when I use the restroom now so it's worth it. I'm starting to heal though so I am super excited since I can actually function haha. I hope not to get another one for a while. Good luck with yours.

I'm having my second OB right now, its been 2 years since my first. During my first I had around 70 lesions, this time it's around 30 and for some reason they are only around my anus. The only thing I have found to ease the pain is to apply lidocaine to the area. When you pee, try filling a cup with warm water and pouring it over yourself as you go. This will help to wash away the urine so it wont sting and burn as much. Other than that I recommend soaking for 20 min each day in a warm bath with epsom salt. It definitely is soothing and I have heard it helps you heal faster. For me right now the problem is going #2. I hope you feel better, this is the worst illness I have ever had, my ex of 3 years cheated on me and then told me he lied because he knew if I got herpes I would never leave him because I would be too embarassed and ashamed. Well he was wrong, I'm getting married to a wonderful guy soon who is very supportive and helpful to me, especially during this OB. All I can really say is hold on, it will pass. My first OB lasted 2 weeks. You are strong and if you can get through this, you can get through anything.

I'm really hoping my outbreaks are spread out that far. I've had probably around 20-25 lesions with this outbreak. Thankfully I'm at the end of my outbreak and I've started to be able to pee normally without it burning. I used aloe Vera gel with lidocaine in it and it does work amazing. I've been soaking in Epsom salt a couple times a day as well and that's been helping. Aside from the obvious pain it's just been an emotional roller coaster. Turns out my boyfriend who I started dating about 3 months ago is the one that gave it to me and he didn't know he had it until I made him get tested. Oh well. Just have to make the best of the situation now. Congratulations on getting married. It's great that you have such a good support system from him. :)

My outbreaks aren't as bad as the two of you I suffered my first ob June 10th 2015 it was horrible burning when I peed and swollen glands. I was told I received it from my last partner being that it wasn't shown in my blood. Since dealing with this virus for 3 months I notice I tend to get an outbreak after my period I always know that it's coming because I begin to get lower back pains and my butt starts to hurt. My doctor prescribes faltered for me but just a 3 day course and I feel like that's not helping. I recently had another ob last Saturday and as the areas seem like they are healing it feels and looks like it's recurring in the same spot it once healed at this point I don't know what to do.

Hey Tt, my doctor also prescribed me a three day course of Valtrex. I'm not sure it's worked for me either. My lesions have healed, but when I have to pee it's still hurting. Not anything like it was hurting before, it feels like pressure kinda I don't know to to explain it. Does anyone know if that's just a part of the healing process? I would talk to your doctor about switching you to another medicine if it doesn't seem to be working for you.

When you use the bathroom, pour a cup of clean water into your stream and you urinate. It can be a bit messy, but the cool, clean water helps take away the acidity of the urine, so It doesn't burn as much.

#1 OB going through hell

I am so relieved to find this site... I had an appointment with my gyno yesterday for a routine checkup which was awesome because two days prior I started having a lot of irritation and itching and burning as well. It turns out that I have a massive yeast infection and he suspects genital herpes as well, still waiting on the test results for that. He rush them so I should know tomorrow but I'm pretty positive that's what it is from everything I've seen and read online. I am completely miserable and cry every time I have to pee or change positions too much... Everything hurts. I'm going to try the Epsom salts in my bath next time but not really looking forward to it, just the water touching me alone is enough to send me through the roof. My fiance has been absolutely amazing and I must say has a very gentle touch and helps with putting the cream medication on that the doctor prescribed and I am very grateful for that because due to the fact that I can't see what I'm doing I'm nowhere near as gentle. Thank God for men truly love their women

I have had HSV2 since 2007. The first 2 years I had consistent OBs. The sight of the sores move and sometimes can originate by the vagina and then go to the anus. Its a really a weird disease. At first I was really embarrassed by it but the reality is that if a person really loves you, they will accept it even if it means that they too could become infected. My husband accepted my H and did not judge me. I was not the type to sleep around, especially unprotected. I know my ex gave it to me but he will never confess because he thinks that he doesn't have it. You do not have to ever have a OB to have the disease. It will also only show up on blood tests if you are shedding (at least this is what the doctor says). As your body understands how to handle the disease, the pain will become more manageable. It will give you symptoms such as painful urination, burning almost like a UTI, a headache, sluggishness and feeling like you have a flu. Once the antiviral meds kick it, these will go away quickly. You will then notice that you will not have many outbreaks years after the initial. Just hang in there. It becomes mostly an annoyance but its not deadly.
