So it's been 3 times that I get BV from (this is going to sound gross) from leaving a tampon in too long. Not overnight or anything but when I'm at work I completely forget about my tampon and its caused me to get a BV. It's a disgusting fishy smell that I swear people around me smell. After sooo much research I tried the vitamin c pill with rosehip and inserting directly up there, but it was wayyyy to painful for me, I couldn't bear it. The burning sensation was too much for me. SOOO I came up with an alternative that worked IMMEDIATELY!!! After the shower there was no smell or discharge and still have not gotten any since!! Sooo what I did was since I had already boughten the vitamin pills, I decided to take them orally plus in the shower I douched with simply warm water and peroxide! It does sting a little but nothing like the. Itamin c pill and That's it! No more embarrassing smell!!

Another woman's veggie lifestyle method of beating BV: 'The problem is that the American diet is way too acidic, because it is grain based. The only food that actually lowers your pH is vegetables, and our diet is sadly lacking in them. But one thing I found out all by myself is that drinking baking soda water is also very effective at lowering your pH. So what I did was I started drinking a glass of baking soda water first thing when I got up, and right before I go to bed at night. Now you have to do this carefully. You only want to drink baking soda water (8 oz of water with 1/2 a tsp of baking soda) on an empty stomach. This is very important. If you drink baking soda water with food in your stomach, it interferes with your digestion, and this is very harmful and can cause other problems; so only drink it an hour before you eat something, or 4 hours after -- longer if it is a really big meal. But I did this religiously for a month and had no BV. But that still didn't fix my diet. So I had to research online the low acid diet. Now I don't mean you have to become a vegan, far from it. Some vegan diets are too grain based. Yes, even whole grains are acidic; it doesn't matter how healthy they make it sound. Yes all grains, wheat, rice, oats, all grains. Again I don't mean you have to give them up completely, just make sure you eat more vegetables than you do an acidic food like grains, sugars (including fruit) and meat and dairy.

An MD told me that drinking an 8 oz glass of water with a wedge of lemon squeezed in it - when you first wake up - and then do the same thing before you go to bed - will clear up any vaginosis/odor/itching issues. It did so for me. Lemons are actually alkaline ( it seems like they would be acidic - but they aren't ). Lemons also have anti-bacterial properties. They help w digestion. If it is too sour when you mid it w the water - put some stevia in it. This really works.
