Apple Cider Vinegar. It doesn't seem like it would work, but it works better than anything else. The acid of many acidic substances outside of the body actually become alkaline once they are ingested. It balances the acid in the stomach so that you don't have to produce too much of your own stomach acid to digest foods (this is what causes acid/indigestion/heartburn/etc in the first place).

Just dilute one or two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with an ounce or so of water. The moment you swallow it, your stomach will become cool and calm, and will remain that way.

The Goat

I would defintely vouch for this one, I've had colon cancer and radiation and my guts we're pretty much septic, I went through the gambit of stomach drugs over the counter and prescription. In a lot of cases I got worse, with the garbage in some of those. Anyways, I heard about Apple Cider Vinegar and thought yeah, drink vinegar when I'm already hurtin' well it worked, this additive of water, will defintely make it easier to swallow. Thumbs Up

I have acid reflux disease without medication is pure hell in my stomach.

I was on prevacid 30mg twice daily but it cost so much had to quit it.

My doctor said it would be fine if I took otc prilosec two twice daily and yes it works but gets expensive also.

I went to wal-marts and got me a small bottle of Apple Cider Vinagar and took two tea-spoons straight because I was burning badly.Within one minute it was instant relief.Dilute two table spoons in 4 oz of water and drink it first thing in the morning and first thing before going to bed and you wont have acid reflux torture. If need be drink it three times daily it works and is cheap.

Thanks M-H-R.

I have heard about Apple Cider Vinagar as a cure for heartburn and the first time I tried,I felt releaf right away. Don't know if this is the placebo effect or not, but although it doesn't taste too good, if it works, maybe I won't ask why...

Definitely a placebo effect... vinegar is acidic and acid does not just magically turn to base in the body.

Magnesium hydroxide neutralizes acid. If you don't like milk of magnesia or tums, eat some chalk.

However, if you have acid reflux, definitely take the medication prescribed by a doctor. What is more important, money or your health??
