I haven't been pregnant in 20 years but still get the leg cramps. Pointing toes up for calf cramp immediately cause cramps in the shin. You haven't lived until you have calf, shin, inner thigh and foot cramps on both legs at the same time. To stretch one muscle contracts the other muscle. Organic apple cider vinegar (2 tbsp + 1/4 tsp baking soda, let fizz, add a couple oz cold water and drink...if in too much pain just swill the ACV straight) helps almost immediately. However, as a Hashimoto's (low thyroid) patient there are 'seasons' where the muscles twitch in prep for cramping at any and all times of the day. I use EmergenC and Peter
Gilliam's Natural Calm (pwd magnesium) to supplement. THis helps, too. I also rub copious amounts of magnesium oil (buy online) and coconut oil onto my legs. Usually sleep like a baby then. Looking forward to purchasing the Amish 'Stops Leg Cramps' soon.

where to get the magnesium oil and coconut oil?

My 73 year-old mother was up walking the floor this morning, whimpering and crying because she had leg cramps. Not something I can stand to watch and not be able to do anything about. Today I researched leg cramp remedies and came across, an Amish remedy made with Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (I used Bragg's), ginger juice, and garlic. As I'm not waiting days for a bottle to come in the mail that may or may not work, I pealed a thumb nail size of ginger, a quarter inch off the end of a clove of garlic and sloshed maybe 1/8 c vinegar in my bullet mixer and then gave her two teaspoons in a cup with a little water. Then promptly followed that with some lemon lime aide as the ginger does not completely override the garlic. (I had to taste the end product. lol) Black Strap Molasses is also said to help leg cramps, so maybe I'll add some to the next batch if the first one works. I'll try to come back with my results of using my mother as a test subject, but as I just randomly happened upon this site, that probably won't happen.
