I always start by laying a hot wet washcloth on my face for 5 minutes or so. Don't know if it makes a difference, though.
In the morning, rinse with equal parts apple cider vinegar and warm (as warm as you can stand it) water. I use a washcloth and wipe my face down with it really well. Liberally apply PURE aloe, this should be clear and only contain aloe, nothing else, the sunburn gel with aloe didn't work for me, but it make work for others, though I wouldn't recommend it.

In the evening (right before you shower), was your face with an organic oatmeal based soap (I use Grandma's Acne Bar) using a washcloth and warm water. Mix equal parts honey and turmeric powder well, apply to face and leave while in the shower, rinse warm water and washcloth right before you get out. Rinse again with vinegar and water, then again apply pure aloe.

Feel free to leave the honey/turmeric mask on as long as you'd like, but turmeric can and will stain your skin, I've been told this is easily removable with a gentle face toner but I'm not willing to find out. I usually take a 10-15 minute shower with the water as hot as it will go for the steam, but feel free to tweak the routine to suit your needs. Also, I use the same washcloth every time because the turmeric stains cloth permanently, my white washcloth is now a happy yellow. :) Good luck, I've tried for ten years to clear cystic acne, nothing worked. I seen results the first morning after using this, the bumps were smaller and less painful. The redness persisted for a few weeks before it started clearing up. Anyways, hope this helps.
