If you have a throbbing tooth ache, try this. get a bowl of water big enough for your hand, and fill it half with water and 2 handfulls of ice. Place the hand from the opposite side of the body from where the tooth is located, into the ice water. In other words, if the tooth pain is on your left side place your right hand in the ice water. With the other hand, gently massage the V-shaped area between the thumb and index finger while the hand is under water.
YES...it sounds strange. It works. I had an abscessed tooth that had to get a root canal. It happened over the weekend. When My hand hit the ice water the throbbing stopped instantly.

I LOVE YOU CHRIS!!!!! My tooth didn't start hurting until after I went to the dentist and they doped me up with ibuprofen that didn't work. I'm up now at 2:56 a.m. in pain and you just saved me. I'm happy I can go to sleep now. This may sound crazy, but it really worked instantly. You're a life saver!!!

Ok guys i am Brian from Lexington Kentucky and all I know is that this ice water does not work the only 2 thing I know that worked for me was the salt water rinsing and another thing i did is not even on here i took an asprin and crushed it up and then I rub the powder on the actual tooth and gum. The denist said not to do this but it takes the pain away it might taste bad but in the end that is how i got to sleep the doctors gave me loratabs and pennicillian and that didnt work but the asprin powder sure does

Excellent. It worked for me, and even if it didn't, how hard is it to grab some water and ice, and at least try it? I love this site, it is very informative and helpful. Thanks so much for contributing this remedy. I was in serious pain all day with a broken tooth, and this did the trick.
