Hey everyone, I'm 17 and just realized that I have BV. I thought it was a yeast infection and I found this site, I saw people commenting about BV. I've never heard of BV so I looked it up and it is definitely what I have! I know I don't have an STD because I for tested at Planned Parenthood and haven't had any sexual contact since then.

I have some odor, I've noticed at school it gets worse as the day goes on. I have thin, kind of watery usually white discharge. As gross as this sounds I can feel it coming out of my vagina, I can feel it coming out in gushes and sometimes I can even push it out. It makes me feel embarrassed but most of all uncomfortable. I don't want to tell my mom so I can't go to the doctor. Does anyone know if Planned Parenthood would give me any medicine? Or what are some affordable, discreet home remedies I can do?

Thanks everyone, feels good to put it out there and I'm glad I know that it is BV now. Also very happy to know I'm not alone

Tell your mom! I'm 12 and I have the same thing as you and very similar symptoms. She probably has gotten BV too and knows how to help you! These are the things that moms are here for. Just a tip... DON'T USE OVER THE COUNTER PRODUCTS! They get rid of BV until the second you stop taking them.

Yes, Planned Parenthood will diagnose and treat your BV. I just went there today for that reason. However, you will be given a prescription for an antibiotic and will have to go to the pharmacy to buy it. The problem will be whether or not it comes back. Mine comes back about every year.

I have had the same issue and I've found that wearing an unscented tampon when i go out, helps with the dripping discharge. I've also had success in the the past with greek yogurt. I do not want to advise you to do that, so read below and I'm sure someone else will.

Tell your mom... I'm a mom of two teenage daughters and they get embarrassed about anything that has to do with their vagina, including talking about their periods but it's my job as a mom to educate, help and show them how to respect and take care of their bodies!
