I hope people coming to this site will take the time to read my comment, because this has basically saved my life. I have battled ulcerative colitis for about 18 years on and off. I would have a major flare every 2-3 years and small flares in between. I've been hospitalized before, been on steroids and NSAIDs, had horrible side effects from both, I've tried natural remedies and herbs...

Just recently though, I have decided to change my diet. I did some research on the link between ulcerative colitis and candida (yeast overgrowth) in the body. Doctors will usually say that colitis is an autoimmune disorder where the body attacks the tissues lining the colon. However, considering the link between colitis and yeast, it could actually be the body attacking the yeast, and thereby causing symptoms such as bleeding, gas and diarrhea in the process. When too much bad bacteria takes over and there is not enough good bacteria in your gut, this can easily happen.

So over the past few months, I have eliminated sugars, starches, carbs and yeasts from my diet. I eat natural unprocessed meats, non-starchy vegetables, low-sugar fruits, eggs, plain yogurt (usually mix it with fruit), and when my flare passed I introduced nuts and seeds and beans/peas. I also drink a lot of water and take a garlic supplement and have a spoonful of extra virgin coconut oil every day. I instantly started seeing results when I changed my diet. I had been going to the bathroom up to 20 times per day, and within just 2-3 days on this diet, I was only going 2 or 3 times at most with highly improved bowel movements and no bleeding. The diet does take some getting used to, but I no longer crave sugar or breads like I used to. I don't feel deprived whatsoever. I was also prescribed Diflucan for yeast and I believe this helped as well. It is an anti-fungal, so it goes hand in hand with the yeast-free diet.

I recommend this to anyone suffering from ulcerative colitis

No, it's just juice from a lemon. You can take a fresh lemon or get bottled juice at the sukemrarpet. All you have to do is squeeze a few drops on a cotton ball and dab it on the scars. Do not leave it on for longer than 15-20 minutes though. Do it daily, maybe even twice a day, then wash off with warm water. This will not only lighten your scars and make them less noticeable, but it'll also give a nice glow to your face. But be careful it could be irritating, especially if you have sensitive skin, so moisturize afterwards.

I have started an anti-Candida diet a over a year ago and I had great results!! It was amazing, my doctor was shocked when she said I had a healthy colon!

The only issues I still had were bloated and my stomach wasnt right. I think I might have other issues too though. But my colon was healed! Taking away the sugars worked SO well, all my inflammation went away and no more bleeding!

Please tell me what a typical day of food would look like.
