take a clean long sock, most likely a mens sock, put about a cup of rice in the sock and heat it in the microwave for about a min. then put it on the ear that is hurting and take some pain med. not only does this take away the pressure causing the pain but if you do this often enough it will drain the build up in your ear

MY 3YR OLD HAS AN EAR ACHE RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK AND I COULDNT REMEMBER IF MY FOSTER MOM WOULD USE OLIVE OIL OR CASTROL OIL SO I CAME ON HERE TO FIND OUT AND THANK GOD I FOUND IT WAS OLIVE OIL!! THATS ALL I USED TO USE AS A LITTLE GIRL AND IT HAS HELPED EVERYTIME! SO U NEED TO MAKE SURE U DO BOTH FIRST GET A SOCK FILL IT WITH NON COOKED RICE TIE A KNOT IN SSOCK AND HEAT IT FOR 20-30 SEC. 1MIN IS TOO HOT!! BE CAREFUL!!! ADJUST THE HOTNESS TO UR LIKING! THEN U TAKE THE OLIVE OIL HEAT A LITTLE BIT IN MICRO. THEN DROP LIKE 2-3 DROPS IN ACHING EAR IMMEDIATELY PUT THAT SOCK OF RICE ON EAR AND IT WILL SOOTHE THE PAIN IN 2MIN!SO ANYONE THAT NEEDS RELIEF. THOSE WHO HAVE COMMENTED B/C THEY DIDNT GET RELIEF MUST REMEMBER THAT ONE THING MIGHT NOT WORK FOR U AS WOULD SOMEONE ELSE. I DO KNOW THAT IT DOES WORK 95% of the time it works!!!! well good luck to all who are hurtting and try this! hope it works for u like it did me and my family> N

This helped in conjunction with the lemon juice. I still have pressure build up but very little pain. Thank You!

thank you! my friend is hurting so much and the meds don't help with the pain. this is awesome.

Sooner Mom

Thank you so much! My daughter's ear ache flared up in the middle of the night....so as a mother I could not bare to see her suffer anymore...so I decided to Google home remedies for ear infections, and found this website...I also tried warming up olive oil with a tinge of garlic, and applied that in her ear, along with left over antibiotics. Thanks now she is sleeping soundly, I can finally get some rest. I would recommend using a thick sock...not a thin one to avoid it from melting in the microwave. Thanks for the tip!! God Bless!

oh my gosh, the sock with the rice helped so much!!!I'm telling everyone about it!! I was in extreme pain for days and no one/nothing could help, I did the sweet oil thing b/c it normally worked, but the pressure in my ear was just too much! It was excruciating, it was not until I found this that, that I had extreme relief, I did it for 3 or 4 times, not only did it relieve the pressure but it also started to start to drain, while feeling extremely soothing....soothing so much that I fell asleep with it on my ear and woke up the next morning to hearing the birds chirp!!! It was amazing, extremely timeless and effortless...!

This was amazing! It worked for me! I had a cold, then it lead to an ear ache. I was in tears in pain! I tried this and within a half hour the pain was gone!! Thanks for posting this! :]

I tried the vingear and alcohol 50/50 treatment twice. It hurt somewhat. I did notice pain dissapated some. I tried the rice/sock treatment twice. I noticed some drainage taking place. I did the salt water treatment where you suck it up each nostril. I believed possibly the combination of these treatments helped somewhat. I believe I am going to take an ambian and go to bed

I have had a ear ache/infection for about 2 weeks. I had the pain and pressure and it helped me with the pressure but make sure you have something like gatoraid or something to drink b/c it dries your mouth and throat out so bad. But, it is so worth it.
