As bad as my YI's are, I cannot bring myself to put garlic up there. Or anything for that matter. Instead, I tried soaking in a bath. I used an aveeno packet (the kind for poison ivy, sunburn, bug bites and other skin rashes) combined with about a 1/2 cup baking soda In a half filled tub. The itching subsided but I thought it would be temporary. Instead it helped with the itching for the rest of the night. It didn't take it away completely, but helped tremendously.

I'm sorry to tell you that garlic is the ONLY thing that worked for me and I literally tried everything else (except boric acid). I spent so much money on crap that made it worse or didn't last long. A quick insert of garlic at night, flush in the morning and it's been months since I last had one (and I got them every single month, often more than once). I also take prebiotics and probiotics faithfully every single day to boost my good bacteria. Try it. Seriously, totally worth the grossness and it's not nearly as bad as you think.

Not to say that a bath won't help because I've had it help me before. But my mom was notorious for telling me to use a hot wash cloth. Doctor said its the worst thing you can do because yeast grows more in warmth so cold wash cloths help much better and that's really all I use when trying to get rid of one!

By the way I make my own oatmeal bath instead of using Aveeno. I just grind up the oats in my nutri bullet. It's much cheaper and the same thing.
