Poison Ivy Home Remedy Comments

2 Comments for the Poison Ivy Home Remedy

I've been using a tea tree oil (also called Melaleuca oil) ointment, and it seems to be helping. It's not stopping the spread, but it does seem to be shrinking the bumps. Strangely, the itching hasn't been bad for me; I'm really surprised because I normally have a weak immune system. I'm taking ascorbyl palmitate, which is a fat-soluble vitamin C, and I'm wondering if that could be the reason I didn't get it so badly?

Tried this and it is already making the poison ivy so much better, thank you!

So I always thought the leaking poison ivy spread but doctor told me it doesn't actually spread. It just takes some areas to have a slower reaction so it gives the illusion of spreading. But why I really thought I would comment is that he also said that the reaction you get is your immune system identifying the urinol (or whatever it is called) as a threat and attacking it. That's why pretasone is prescribed because it slows down your immune system.
