Ellen Bihler

I had nail fungus on both Great (big) toenails and the 2nd toe on rt foot. Refused to take oral Lamisil due to nasty side effects. Instead, I soaked both feet for about 5-10 minutes each night in 50:50 water:white vinegar solution for about 2 months. I know it killed the fungus because my doctor then took samples of my toenails and cultured them: fungus free!!

How long did it take for the healthy nail to grow? I have had nail fungus for the passed two years, I've been wearing fake toe nails. I've tried candistan pills but didn't work. I've been wearing fake toe nails for the longest time. I'm 25 years old and my toe nail fungus has caused me a lot of stressed and affected my self confidence. I've just tried soaking them in apple vinger and water and will cut and clean them as much as I can. I've lost all 8 toe nails. I don't know what to do and don't know if there's a hope. I'm so embarrassed to talk about it to anyone or even see a doctor about it. Could anyone help me please and give me a hope. I even get bad dreams that my friends saw my toes and got disgusted. Please help me and suggest the best remedy and tell me wether if the toe nails grew out in a normal healthy way. Thank you

Jessica you should definitely see a doctor or naturopath. Don't be embarrassed, they deal with stuff like that all the time, it's their job! Maybe wearing fake toenails it's making it worse as the nails don't breathe so the fungus keeps growing? Hope you can find a remedy that works soon. All the best!

Erica, those fake nails will make it worse! Stop using them immediately! Fungus thrives in dark, damp areas. Don't use polish either. Try using a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and Listerine. For ease and convenience, I suggest buying a small misting spray bottle (.97 cents at Walmart where the travel size health/beauty products are), fill it full with half vinegar, half Listerine and spray your toes religiously every morning and night. Do this until nails start to grow in looking healthy, and then I would keep doing it longer to be on the safe side. Good luck!

Above comment was meant for Jessica, not Erica. Oops! :)
