5 Comments for the Scalp Psoriasis Home Remedy

I dealt with scalp psoriasis for 10 years after my wife fried my scalp while coloring my hair. It was thick, waxy scales that I picked at and would come off in chunks.
After getting laid off from work I decided to cut my hair short, to about a 1/2 inch, and then every day for a month I used 1% hydro-cortisone cream that I bought OTC. It worked! Now I use it once a week for maintenance and I haven't had any recurrance.

Interesting, I've used cortisone cream on hot-spots, or persistent sores, and it helps, but I've never considered using it for an overall treatment. How big of an area do you cover?

I do my whole crown, which is where the psoriasis is isolated to. I've never really had an issue with the back or sides, of course the top is the only place the coloring was being applied all those years ago. I apply it with wet hands and make sure I really work it in. When it 'dries' it acts like hair gel really. I'm really please with the results as I considered my problem to be relatively severe and it was definitely affecting my life, self-esteem, etc.

I will give this a try. I buzzed my hair-I'm a 51 yr old woman, but the itchiness is still there. I'll try almost anything!

Just something to note. I previously used Hydrocortisone on my skin, for a long period of time, and it resulted in my skin becoming very very thin and sensitive in that area. You should be careful with long term use. I have also experienced the 'rebound' effect with Hydrocortisone, so when I stopped using it for a period of time, my psoriasis would come back worse then before. Just my experience with it.

Hi guys. I encountered a scalp psoriasis since high school. I'm 22 now. What should I do? What natural treatments should i use? Please help.
