hi am sort of new to the world of psoriasis-the cortisone just seems to kill the top layer of skin-and the itch sends me crazy. All the doctor say is take antihistamine for the itch-when I have a flair up this doesn't seem to work. I have stumbled across a product that relieves the itch almost instantly-I picked up a tub of (sudocream) the label says 'Healing Cream for Nappy Rash, Dermatitis, Abrasions, Pressure Sores, Eczema' it contains 15% zinc oxide-so it is a bit messy on my hands but so for the only product that instantly stops the itch. I found this in the skin care section of the supermarket. I am currently going on a vitamin diet and notice on here 3 separate posts that have a reference to Zinc/vitamin d so maybe there is a link with the zinc.

maximum zinc intake should not exceed 40mg per day (MAXIMUM!) 15mg is daily recommended. don't overdo it like some of the posts. its not safe.

too much zinc can cause symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, loss of appetite and headaches. over an extended period, excessive zinc consumption can also interfere with your immune system function (not good for psoriasis) and lower copper and HDL cholesterol -- the good kind -- levels in the body. 15mg of zinc is 100% of the daily recommended allowance

vitamin d3 is beneficial (vitamin d3 is what your body produces from sun light). not vitamin d technical called vitamin d2.
